The time has come to replace my rusty, warped cheapo baking trays.
I want to invest in some good quality ones, but at a bargain price ( obviously)
Any tips on how to decide what I need and what to look for. Thinking of buying from TK Max, or Dunhelme but want to know what I'm looking for rather than my usual 'ooh that's nice& cheap, I'll get it' approach
Thanks0 -
I recently bought a Bakingenius baking tray from Lakeland and it's the best tray I've ever owned, nothing sticks to it, it doesn't warp and it literally just wipes clean. I was lucky and got it when they first sold it and had it on special offer for about £6, they're £12.71 now but on 3 for 2 offer.

I'm going to slowly replace all my old tins with the Bakingenius range, they're more expensive than I've ever paid (I normally just buy cheapy supermarket ones) but I do think it'll be worth it in the long run.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I got a muffin tin from TK Maxx by Wiltons, it ws abut £5 and it is the best muffin tin I've used, it just wipes clean and feels reall nice to use. My local TK Maxx has loads of different Wiltons pans (mostly various cupcake pans or flat trays) all for around that sort of price.0

Another huge thumbs up for the bakingenius range at lakeland... a bit more expensive, but definitely worth it... and as op said... 3 for 2 at the moment!!

I work in catering and we use aluminium baking pans, I've also got these at home. They'll last for years, don't stick if you heat them before using and are easy to clean (just soak them in a soapy water if any food baked on). You can buy them from Nisbets, the Vogue range are the ones I have. HTH.0 -
I recommend Lakeland baking stuff - it's worth every penny. I know some stuff at Lakeland is just overpriced knickknackery, but the baking stuff is great. I've got a big roasting tin and a baking sheet and will replace my other dodgy stuff when it finally gives up the ghost.0

I swear by enamel ones as they don't stick and you can use a metal scourer on them, unlike the non-stick types to get them really clean. They can also go inside an "Oven Pride" oven cleaner bag too when you are cleaning your oven, but not overnight.
I did buy 2 x silicone type baking sheets last week from the QVC Outlet shop, but they are too big for my oven. Must be designed for the larger American sized ones. I was gutted as they looked fab.:hello:0 -
I love the silicon ones if thats any help!0

Me too, and they're not very expensive in the supermarket - Morrisons always seem to have a good range. I find that even the worst 'burnt on' comes off if you leave them overnight with a layer of washing soda crystals.0 -
My local tescos had a sale on baking tins i think they were the tefal ones all half price. got a loaf tin for 2 pound. the bread slips out- no sticking at all0
