I bought a baking tray in TK Maxx the last time I was on the mainland and it's been a good buy - have a rummage in there and see what you can find, if there's one relatively close to you0

I've had some of my Prestige trays and tins 18 years and they're still going strong. Overall I'd go for quality but if it's a size or shape you'll only use from time to time then try something cheaper. I've bought some excellent silicone bakeware in Home Bargins for only £2 each (at least £5 elsewhere) and I've also had some good finds in TK Maxx.0

I love Mermaid too. They cook realy evenly too.0

I bought a set from M & S for £9.50 and i like them.0

We got some john lewis own brand ones for wedding presents (about £10 each) and they are fantastic. If you can afford them, buy decent ones and they will give you better results (non-stick and more even cooking) and last you for much longer.
Hope that helps.

Most of my baking/cake tins seem to be coming to the end of their useful life, many having lost their non-stickness. Do you think it's better to buy cheap and replace regularly or bite the bullet and go for something more expensive eg Mermaid that should last a few years?
Hi if you live near a lakeland shop they have an offer on buy two get one free on their baking trays. I have bought cheap ones in the past and they dont last as long so now i buy more expensive ones and they seem to wear very well.0 -
I have some cheap bun tins because I always use bun cases, even for mince pies. However the rest are Masterclass from the local hardware shop and they are very good. I find that the cheaper ones seem to shed their non-stick coating too soon.0

as a student i got one for £1 in poundland it was ok and took some cleaning but it did last 3 years.
i got a 'good quality' one from a supermarket, and lets just say it isn't. it 'pops' when it gets hot and stuff flies up in the air! useless. will see it it's magnetic and turn itinto a notice board it so!
i've had some good successes in TK Max with enamel and heavy duty and Asda's own enamel is really good and comes in useful sizes too. so i'd recomend Asda enamel.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm going into town this week so I'll call into TKMaxx and see what they've got, although I've never seen Mermaid ones in there before maybe I'll drop on some. Also like the look of the Silverwood ones so I'll find out where my nearest stockist is and take a look at them.0

I have just bought a Bakingenius deep tray from Lakeland.
It arrived today in a massive box and it quite heavy.
I am thinking of getting another one if they are any good.
Can anyone recommend these, is it worth buying another one whilst they are on offer?0
