i enter LOTS of comps, i spend about 1 or 2 hours a day entering. and do this every day usually or if i miss a day or two it takes me a lot longer to catch up on comps i have missed!

as you can see from my wins in my sig that i am not very lucy at all, and as such i am more choosy about with comps i enter now. i look at if i really need that years supply of dog food.... as i dont have a dog, nor does nay of my family. or the double glazing... is it worth the calls at all hours? no it isnt, well not for me anymore.

so i am waiting for my BIG WIN that i am sure is on its way one day soon. it must be... it is all that keeps me going!

so i dont suppose its how long or how many i think it has a lot to do with how lucky you are. so good luck to everyone.

if i have the time i enter as many as i can
one of my customers asked me if it was worth it -comparing the hours spent doing them and the prizes won.

i have done quite well but i'm not comparing hourly rate to hours spent doing comps
at the end of the day it's a hobby for me and bides time.
others play squash or do jogging-cake making-flower arranging-gardening spend time washing the car again or doing stuff in the shed.
i like to do comps like others like to do knitting
  • I have been entering since Nov and probably done 100 so far, but nothing yet. we have nothing to do at work, so do them all at work, eventually get a laptop for home soon then I can enter more.:T

The way I look at is that comping is a game of chance-the only difference is that my "stake" invested is my time rather than actual money. When I worked full-time the "time investment" cost me more than it does now I work part-time

I remember a competition on here had a counter on each entry, it showed about 30,000 which doesn't seem very good odds, but then again I won a dvd boxset and multifunction printer on various comps, so I cannot complain
  • Hiya

As you can see in my signature I have won a few things since starting comping beginning of December. I was a bit sceptical at first (not now!!!)

Due to my job I am at home 6 days out of 8 (I work 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off and use my nights at work when it is quiet to enter as well) I can always find time to enter what I want to. I do not enter anything that would not be of interest to me or my OH unless it is high value and could be sold on eBay.

    Good luck with your comping.
