Or longer. I’ve been waiting since Saturday and it’s still not gone.

My comment is about seeing the 8% account after having renewed an existing Halifax account.
If you are having issues with removing an existing Halifax RS, it’s likely you didn’t renew it properly, as this renewal is instant.
If you are having problems with removing an existing BOS RS, it’s likely you need to ask CS via secure message to close it for you. Several people have reported that CS actions this within a couple of hours.0 -
removing existing BOS regular saver
I was told by their customer service that it required them to close it, as there was interest to be paid. He asked what account I wanted the interest paid into and then closed the account. This was done through the online chat.
I was able to open the 8% RS the next day.

We closed our BOS MS Sat / Sun along with renewing the Hfx on Saturday. All those old accounts have disappeared this morning and new BOS
accounts opened. Sat & Sun is Mon for these transactions.Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.

Did you empty BOS MS first? Assume you requested via chat?

Yes and yes. BOS emptied and requested closure over chat which was instant with interest paid into current account, account sat there for reminder of Sat, Sun & Mon until it had gone this morning.

Managed to open it last night.
Also worth remembering for those able to open one that you need to make your monthly deposit - its one payment only by bank transfer/standing order (so you can pay in one £150 - not £100 and £50 later) - by 25th of the month. So you need to pay in by Saturday if you want to make a payment in for July.

You can make more than one payment each month and although they say you need to pay in by 25th you can fund the account instantly by faster payment. Ideally make your first payment ASAP and your second on 1st August.
From their terms: Save by bank transfer or standing order. You can pay in more than once a month, as long as you don’t save more than £250. Make sure we get your first payment within 28 days of account opening. After this we need to get your monthly payments by 25th of the month

They say the 25th, but this is just to cater for February and any delays. In reality you can pay in on the last working day of the month.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?5 -
T&C also say minimum of £25, rather than the usual miss as many payments as want.
With 8% I won't be missing any, but thought I would point it out.
