  • I guess the extra charges cannot be helped. It is so usual when it comes to loans. Just be conscious and know how much it really is..

What loan? And the post you quoted is 7 years old.
    Are you OK?

I didn't check the date. :) But, my experience with them is about a year ago.

Hi I'm new to the site, can someone help or advise. I have just been approved for the Tesco Clubcard Balance Transfer Credit card and I have a £4,800 credit card limit. I currently own an AMEX Platinum Cashback Credit Card. I was hoping that I could use my AMEX to pay off my final payment of my car which is £3,800 and also buy a few other bits and then balance transfer and spread the cost over 5 months to pay it all off.

What I was wondering would I still get my cashback from Amex if I had spent on the card then balance transferred shortly after. Do I need to wait until I get the statement then balance transfer or can I just wait until it has shown on the account or will I not be entitled to cashback. The way I see it, it is being paid just not by me. :)

    Thanks

Hi just applied to Post Office, was given a £6.4k limit but can't balance transfer to an AMEX card :(

Anyone know if any other £0 fee BT's allow AMEX (or cash direct into bank)

    Thanks

I want to transfer about £900 from an M&S credit card onto the Virgin 24 month card, and also borrow £500 as it's 24 months at 0% on money transfers too (I intend to pay the £500 next year). How much would this affect my credit rating? I already have a mortgage (which I have had for 3 years) and this is due up for changing next April ish time. Will this affect my ability to renew my mortgage? Any help appreciated!

Not much. Mainly it's a credit search that, if one, has very small and short-lasting effect.

    Unlikely.

Majority do. Search the board for 'amex transfer' to find exclusions.

  • Hi I recently did a balance transfer from virgin money to Barclay card, this transfer did not appear on my Barclaycard statement so I rang virgin money, they said that the last digit was missing and the payment went to Barclaycard, I was told to speak to Barclays, when I rang them they said the payment would have not gone through because of the missing digit ? they never offered to investigate this matter and said I must ring virgin and they would sort it out, I rang virgin back and they said the payment has definatly been made and there is nothing they can do, even though it was there mistake ! so i spoke to Barclays again and they are looking at it . this has been going on since 27th may and im paying the payments to both banks surely this carnt be right ??

It will be sitting in a holding account or have paid off the wrong card, you need to raise a complaint over it
I have a deep burning indifference
  • After several phone calls to both banks Barclays are now doing this i hope, so i have to wait another possible 13 days, surely virgin should be sorting this out, after all this was not my fault !
