After a letter to new accounts and screengrabs of the process and offer. They have now made it 0% which is what I applied for.
There was nothing in the T&C's that applied to my situation.
    Thanks
  • I have a corporate credit card with Barclaycard which I use for company stock purchases only. They have just, without ANY prior notice, lowered the credit limit which has not only annoyed me (a lot!) but also now means my stock purchases have been curtailed. I'd like to transfer to another card company but am not sure how this would work or if it is possible? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks :)

I applied for a Natwest Platinum that was advertsied on the front page of MSE as 'lowest for years' 0% for 16 months. The link opened up a page with just one button, 'apply now'. I filled out my details and the balance transfers I wanted moving.

I was accepted and was sent a list of the transfers that had occured, in between time I had put a holiday on my Virgin card so thought I might as well transfer this too at the same 0%. Upon ringing Natwest to do this I find that the card I have been sent (Platinum as advertised) is not at 0% but at 15%. So I have transferred lower rate balances onto a higher rate for no apparent reason.

Customer services didnt know anything about the deal till I pointed it out to them on the Natwest website. They don't understand what has happened and have asked me to write a letter to new accounts so they can investigate if I have pressed a 'wrong button'.

Martins link took you to the correct page and only had 1 button to press.

I recommend anyone else who has taken this offer to ring and CHECK if they are on the 0% for 16 months before they start transferring all their balances. I have sent them screen shots of the offer and how I went about it but looks like they arent taking the blame for a website glitch that is sending people the wrong card and ignoring this promotion.

Please let me know if anyone has had same happen to them so I have some ammunition to back me up.

Hm, I just followed the RBS link next to it, and it came up with I had been accepted for the Platinum card, rate 16.9%, presumed this was usual rate BUT just realised it mentioned nowhere about the 0%
My session has timed out, so it said the balance transfer may not have gone through so I will ring them on Monday and see
  • I want to apply for a card so I can do a balance transfer, I am on benefits, when I total up my income can I also add into that the housing benefit I receive as my income? This will make my income higher so might give me a better chance?

I currently ower £2600 to very and £1100 to capital one. Do I stand a chance of getting a card? I have been making regular payments on time for the past few months but before that I wasn't so good. I can make repayments of £200 a month.

Well it's not really an income is it ..it's for a specific purpose to offset your housing costs .....do they ask what those are? ..if so then it might be legitimate to show that you have this benefit so your housing costs are either reduced or cancelled by the amount of HB you get but I guess you would need to specify this as other income and name it as HB

Advice needed please - my friends 0% deal with Virgin has ended & she would like to move this to another 0% deal but we are not sure if she can move this to the current Natwest deal as I cannot find a list of who belongs to which 'stable' IFSWIM - would she be able to BT from Virgin to Natwest? Or does anyone think there are any better deals about?

Thanks in advance of any kind help given
