Yes - that would be the parking ticket with the incorrect reg which would, when checked on the operator's system, come back as an orphan payment.

I don't understand what evidence they would need, I quite literally have a picture of the parking ticket that was paid for under the reg, and as I've said if it was only £20 I wouldn't have minded, but I'm not giving them a hundred quid for the pleasure…

They don't "take you to court " , they issue a Money Claim using MCOL

Study a few Excel Parking Elms Legal court cases to see how it plays out, as a step by step process, if they pay the 2 fees

If they want to take you to court, let them.

At the IAS and Popla the onus is on the appellant to provide evidence and by default you are guilty until proven innocent.

At county court the onus is on the claimant to make their claim and provide the "stronger" evidence on the balance of probabilities.
