If it's any crumb of comfort @strawb_shortcake my brother was useless with money and then our parents died in the space of 6 weeks over one summer and the inheritance wasn't far off the numbers you are talking about…
There was a bit of a period of what I would call reckless spending (which was up to him, I did say my piece once but then kept my lip buttoned) but the fact there was no magic money tree safety net anymore seemed to have an effect on him. Now he's reasonably sensible.
Admittedly he was a bit younger so less set-in-his-ways, and there were no international judiciary incidents (to the best of my knowledge) but you might be pleasantly surprised how parental deaths can help people grow up.
