Well Mrs Builder has been and gone and in addition to her cleaning up the kitchen and shower room, I've unpacked 2 boxes of books (boxes ripped up) and between us we have emptied a suitcase and 3 bags for life as well as collecting t-shirts and jumpers that were hung up or in various places.

Both lots of washing are out on the line and I've lost count of the number of recycling bags that have gone to various bins. We are going to see if the junk man will take the old cage and 2 metal filing cabinets and I'm thinking about getting the waste wizards to come if it's going to be 5 weeks + to get a regular bulk waste collection. I think I have a 10 item list and it would be good to get it all gone - the cushions that used to be in a set of drawers (the ones that went in December) have been left on the floor next to the mouldy wall so won't be usable any more. I'll try to get DS3 to start bringing things down and put things outside if they won't be affected by rain (computer tower and little fridge will be okay and other metal items)

So I'm tired and aching but quite happy. I have plans to continue over the weekend and into next week but will take time to rest and have fun.

Great progress @grandmanerd. Be proud. Has the cage gone upstairs yet?

No but he has brought my second set of drawers down and the fridge and insectucor to be disposed of. He has filled the black suitcse with the contents of the drawers but says there are still things of mine upstairs so I will go up there tomorrow or Sunday. I have 4 part filled bags for the cs (different shops) and found the final missing library book.

We had rain this morning but only a tiny bit. The rest of the day has been quite pleasant temperature wise. However, we are predicted another heat wave during the coming week and no more rain in sight 🙄

I picked a strawberry, a tomato, 3 small green peppers, lots of French beans, and a colander full of fallen apples, which I made into apple juice with my steam juicer. I got one and a half bottles, so plenty of breakfast juice for me for the week. OH will probably say it isn't sweet enough, but he doesn't really drink fruit juice anyway. I also gave the basil a haircut so will make pesto tomorrow.

OH and I have decided to look at having solar panels. The industry seemed to be full of pushy sales people and cowboys in earlier days, and we were cautious. Now though, well respected local electrical firms are fitting them, so we have made initial enquiries with one firm who have done some work for us before, and have excellent local reviews for this type of work, as well as more basic electrical stuff. We might not recoup the outlay in our lifetimes, but it might make our house more attractive on the sales market if it came to that, and will lower our carbon footprint - and electricity bills don't seem to be going down, after all. The equipment is a lot cheaper than it used to be too. Anyway, we will see what we can find out.

Main meal was flatbreads with hummus and roasted veg piled on top. Very yummy, I will do that again. Might roast some more veg tomorrow for a couscous salad.

Time to do the watering again.

Today has been a very simple day, as I've had a very dodgy tummy since yesterday morning. I have been able to drink water, plus a few sips of electrolytes. I have been entertained by a book and utube videos that I missed most of, due to napping!!!

Today I am grateful for a strong breeze, for being able to wash all the towels that I might have contaminated, for clean water, for my comfy bed, for dh rising to the occasion despite not being anywhere near 100% himself.
