You are not your age
Nor the size of clothes you wear,
You are not a weight
Or the colour of your hair,
You are not your name
Or the colour in your cheeks,
You are all the books you read
And all the words you speak,
You are your croaky morning voice
And the smiles you try to hide,
You're the sweetness in your laughter
And every tear you've cried,
You're the songs you sing so loudly
When you know you're on your own.
You're the places that you've been to
And the one you call your home.
You're the things that you believe in
And the people that you love
You're the photos in your bedroom
And the future you dream of,
You're made of so much beauty
But it seems that you forgot
When you decided you were defined
By all the things you're not

My husband has Irish passport foxholes and it certainly makes travelling easier.
Quick one before bus to work
Gratitudes from yesterday
That I listened to my mind and body and didn’t go to a drinks event after work. Lovely work folk but not the right time for me. I felt relief at being wise to own needs
Lovely glass of wine with DH after work instead. I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the little bar
Remembering to use my set of weights when I boil the kettle small wins!
Have a good day folks x6 -

I'm having a tidy up/ finish things off day. I tried phoning my bank branch - didn't work (bot) so will go some time next week (or find some other route on line). I can walk slowly but my ankle doesn't feel strong (spent most of yesterday afternoon with it strapped up and propped up and it does feel better than it did). After a couple of easier days the heat and hayfever are ramping up again. Hooray for ice cream.
First pass I took some of the washing out to the line. Sun is hot. I moved some hydrated coir into alternaate containers and set more to soak.
I then filled bottles from the butt. I threw 6 x 1 litre bottles into the incinerator bins that house my trees (mainly cooking apples and native hedging). My apples have never needed serious watering before.
I filled the last 3 bottles and carried them to the bottom of the yard in a bag. Watered 2 more bins. Collected the super dry washing from yesterday as I came back up the yard, then scooped up the food caddy to bring in. I used it to move water a few weeks ago which washed it out at the same time. Came inside to drink water and rest. The sun was hot on my head and the nape of my neck so hope I don't have any problems.
Hopefully I can repeat thai several times. Being indoors is good - it's dark and cool.
Grateful for chocolate (hayfever is making me a bit tearful), good books, the work done by myself and Mrs Builder yesterday and my morning shower.

2 loads of laundry washed and dried on the line. ❤️ that I have no heating costs in Summer, and ❤️ that I am drying the clothes for free. Plus I get to chat to the bees on the lavender bush. My little paved yard is looking brilliant, flowers everywhere, and finally my grape vine has matured and is dripping with fruit. It is a nice space but has a 'dump corner' so I have decided to fill a bag every day and bin it slowly. It wont take long.
Ds1 finally seems to be taking this whole 'job idea' seriously. He has all his ID and begins on Wednesday.
The Sun is shining, the birds are singing (eurasian black caps) and things are progressing.

Had a good night's sleep after a number of bad ones. I even slept for a while yesterday afternoon as I was so tired (it is unheard of for me to sleep during the day unless I am ill), so I am feeling more lively today than I have for a while. No definite plans - I may finish my tax return now I have all the information that I need, and there are lots of little jobs that need attention. It won't be a NSD as we need to go to the garden centre and buy a decent tree stake as the wind has slightly destabilised our pear tree. It is only a small tree, but is some years old and its original stake rotted off some time ago. Hope we can make it stable again as it is my favourite garden tree, and very productive. We do have a stake but I think it is too small and we need a more substantial one.
