Import MPAN should be on your bill, along with meter serial number.

I have a letter confirming connection to the grid from the DNO following G98 notification.

What I have after my solar panels were installed in March 2019 is a

G83/2 Appendix 3 SSEG Installation Commissioning Confirmation

This is a copy of a form sent by the installer to the DNO. It states my name, address and my MPAN. Under SSEG Details, the capacity (3.68 kW) is stated, also a 10 digit number in the Type Test Ref column .

No I don't have that. Octopus tell me to contact SSE for the NDO, BG say the same thing. A week after contacting SSE to ask for the NDO they come back and say the system was never commissioned! I have been receiving FIT payments and Deemed Energy payments since Jan 2012. EDF - who I was with from 2011 to 2024 tell me (today) that yes they received copy of the NDO in 2011 and supplied that to BG when I transferred to them in 2024 and that it should be on the central register. EDF say that BG should supply that info to Octopus. The firm that installed don't exist anymore. EDF have reorganised and their old records are sealed. It's like running in treacle.

You have my sympathies. Bulb (remember them?) was my supplier when I got solar panels so they became my export provider, then Octopus who took over when Bulb went belly-up. I transferred to Eon Next next and they asked me for details and diagrams, some of which I didn't have. Fortunately my installer was still trading and was willing and able to provide the "missing" information. In my opinion it should be up to the first FIT provider to get the necessary documentation and subsequent providers should accept this and not ask you to jump more hurdles, otherwise you might find yourself unable to transfer.

SSE now say there is no record of installation commission approval - DNO letter. Octopus now want form G89/ G90. Called EDF, who I was with at the time of commission (2012) and they say it was all in order ( they paid fit from 2012 to 2024). As they were reorganised when EDF was nationalised in 2024 they cannot access records but say that was all passed to BG when I transferred and BG continued to pay FIT and SEG. Transferred FIT from BG to Octopus - no prob apart from BG querying meter readings. Just transfer of SEG is the prob.

A bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but you could file a Subject Access Request with both EDF and BG and see if their data protection team can find the information EDF claim exists but neither can currently supply.

Can you just submit a new G.98 declaration?

G98 was introduced shortly after the Feed-in Tariff scheme was closed to new applications, in April 2019 if I remember correctly. So a system installed in 2011 would never have submitted a G.98 declaration. From my own experience in March 2019, my installer submitted a G83/2 form to the DNO (as @Qyburn states). The DNO never sent me anything. I don't know what the situation was in 2011
