Since you've booked this might not be useful, but anyway…

If you want sun late in the year you have to go south of Europe: think Morocco or the Canaries, or Egypt.

I did once stay all-inclusive in the RUI in Marrakesh, and I would strongly recommend it. Food was excellent; the pool was a delight; the surroundings were pleasant and comfortable. And if you did want to do something more energetic, a fascinating city was within reach.

Personally, I wouldn’t have chosen a hotel with a kids club. I don’t necessarily insist on booking adults only, but a hotel with a featured kids club attracts a lot of families with kids, possibly too many.

I can see an advantage of an all inclusive if travelling alone, though Crete has some amazing restaurants if you want to see the island rather than remain in your hotel.

You should visit Spinalonga, it’s on the side of Crete near where your hotel is.

Well, one advantage of hotels with kids club is that you tend to avoid the worst of the adult-only hotels which can attract one of two not necessarily to everyone's taste groups:

    • a rather more senior clientele on the verge of making the holiday barely distinguishable from a week in a nursing home.
    • club 18-30 stag and hen drink the strip dry.

A family-orientated hotel out of peak school holiday can be quite suitable for an all-adult group (or single adult traveller).
