Back from my hole in the Bronze Age to report a mildly-horrific weekly spend of £121.79; two trips to the supermarket, plus the butchers & the market added up rather! I also had to take my mother to get her pacemaker battery checked, which was quite a performance as she can no longer walk at all. Luckily DD2 came with me; she's wonderful with Mum and also very good at getting people to help her!

I'm still at the dig next week but helping with Finds (i.e. pot washing!) which means we get off a bit earlier. So I should be able to stick to my menu plans a bit better, provided the other inhabitants of our house haven't eaten the ingredients before I get home! I should be able to stay within the £70.62 left in June's kitty, despite the heat; there's plenty in the freezer that needs eating up.

Edited a previous post to add a spend at Ald! and HB

Also, DD2 has bought some reductions for me twice from Tesc@, so we have rounded that up to a tenner.

    Hello All 😊

Third shop for month June at Lidl.  I had £74.78 left so hoped to spend about £35.  I was trying to be extra careful but still got a things not on the list and not needed for this week 🙄

So decided to try next week to follow what some if you are doing and not do a ‘weekly shop’ and just use stuff up - especially from the freezer.  Only will get absolute essentials to top up if need be.  Let’s see if this works. I  casually informed MrFL who looked worried 😂

    Spend this week £40.44

    Total spend  £140.66/£175

    New Balance £34.44

Lidl - tomatoes, potatoes, walnuts, olives, mackerel, black beans, green olives, almond butter, oats, freezer bags, oat milk x2, green beans, cottage cheese, noodles, pumpkin seeds, feta x2, chicken, desiccated coconut, apples, blueberries, kiwi, bananas and avocado.

    Evening all,

l did three shops at Lidl, Aldi and Tesco today. I spent quite alot £111.24 in all. However £45.81 was for entertaining on the weekend and included £10.90 for beer and tonic water, not normally paid for by the grocery budget.

l do at least have all the fundamental ingredients for meals until the end of the month

I tweaked the food plan due to the incoming hot weather, so instead we will be eating

Fake Nando's chicken legs, spicy rice, garlic bread, corn on the cob, salad, coleslaw, olives, homemade apple crumble with custard and or ice cream - Dinners don't normally come with so much choice this is because we have guests. Hoping to have enough for leftovers one day.

    Gammon, new potatoes, salad

Chicken Gyro with tzatziki, flatbreads and salad

Jacket Potato with various filling, cheese, beans, tuna etc

    Chicken Fajitas

    Fish, chips and peas
