Leave them in the street to play ......... or using registered child care might be a good idea. Alternatively don't complain about lack of money after making a decision to be a one income household.
Your boss was rude, but you were apparently eating her biccies )"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

Would they be much better off paying childcare for 4 kids?
OP has explained that the biscuits are what people have brought back from holidays and she hasn't been on holiday to bring anything back.
Do all the colleagues take biscuits in? Are they only when someone has been away or is it a regular thing that people take it in turns? Were the biscuits you were eating ones that the boss brought in?If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
I don't think the boss really has that much of an issue about the biscuits anyway otherwise she would have said something more like 'if you want to share them you should bring some in sometimes'. Boss also made the same comment when the OP was talking about something completely different and something that doesn't affect the boss at all.
It sounds to me like the boss thinks all families should be like hers, both parents working, 'there's childcare so no excuse' sort of attitude, and is implying that OPs husband is a layabout who is 'sending' his wife out to work and sponging off her.
When my OH has time off he moans that it's easier to be at work!If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
Zoeleigh, in response to your "and do what with 4 kids", it depends on their age, but other people do put them into childcare. The OP is lucky that she and her husband don't have to and it sounds as though the boss may be jealous of this.
At the end of the day it's different strokes for different folks, isn't it - the boss chooses to put her child/ren into childcare and work, the OP and her husband choose a different option - ie. a single-income household; not every family even has the luxury of this choice in itself. But I still think the OP should either chip in for the biscuits every so often, or refrain from helping herself, holiday or no - it's just fair, that's all. As I said, one of my colleagues is a little tight for money but still manages to chip in a pack of tesco value cookies every so often - which are as gratefully accepted as any other kind. It's the principle of the thing.0 -

I agree that OP should take a turn at taking biscuits in, I said earlier that they don't have to be luxury or anything.
I am actually asking the question would they be better off paying childcare for 4 kids or would they be worse off? I know if it's 1 or 2 kids they may be better off but would paying childcare for 4 be defeating the object? If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
It depends on the childcare, but also, if their company is in the childcare vouchers scheme they could be a lot better off.0

I would ignore the biscuit comment. Maybe take in a tin to shut her up.
As for her comments about your husband getting a job, it is sexist and inappropriate for her to mention your personal life if it is not job-related. I would complain to her superiors. Focus on the point that she is making inappropriate comments about your home life which has no bearing on the job that you do.0 -

Exactly! Her opinion of your personal situation is inappropriate - she's your boss. It isn't about whether or not your OH should or shouldn't stay at home but on whether or not she should be saying anything at all.
