Elderly parents being fleeced
I've just discovered my 81 year old father in law is being charged 90 quid a month for basic (50mb) broadband. I'm going to go off on them but is there anything specific I can do? he's paid a grand over the last year for what should have cost 300 quid.

How does your father feel about this? Mine wouldn't have been overly bothered. All you can do really is find him a better deal, if that's what he wants.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1 -
A) He's tied into this 'deal' until Feb 27
B) Who's charging £90 a month for basic broadband!? Seriously???

£40 fine, £50 at a push because you haven't shopped around. But £90 a month is actual robbery. And the worst thing is the EE app only allows you to 'Upgrade' your package, never offers lower level packages.

Yeah something isnt right here. OP have you actually seen the bills and the product they are receiving?
At the end of the day, removing all emotion from it, this is likely something your father will have agreed to.
"Going off" with them screaming and bawling down the phone wont get you very far either.

What has he signed up for and can the contract be changed at a reasonable cost?
Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
Yes I've seen the bill, it's literally £90 for basic broadband. It's daylight robbery. I was hoping for some sort of key arguments to use, but I guess I'll use screaming obscenities!

Well that will get the call terminated. So good luck.

"It's daylight robbery" or it is what he signed up for.
Do you think he was mis-sold?

To get to £90/mth the service contract must have been renewed (after annual price rises) at least a couple of times. Your father-in-law presumably agreed to the contract terms.
If you wanted to argue that your FIL lacked the capacity to make this kind of decision (and other decisions around the supply of utilities) then steps should have been taken at that time to give assistance with such decisions.
