That's partly it for me too, the thought if everything feeling wet, and being naked in such an open space doesn't feel right either

Just an alternative thought- you don’t have to have a rain head shower at all ( personally I do not really like them )

Just have a conventional shower head - they are better than the ones that come combined with a rain head.

Personally I love my rainhead and would hate not having one, but I also have a handheld (mostly used for cleaning in our place) and the two are controlled separately. No need to compromise /choose one or the other

    - performance from the handheld is good, but I prefer the rainhead.

I do like a rain head shower, so a mix of both would be perfect, but we really need to go and view some showrooms, seems we have 3 quite local independent ones, also hoping they have some petite bathroom set ups so we can get a good feel for what we can achieve

Ask if you can try them out first… (I'll get my coat).

I've no idea how accessible this is, but we got lots of ideas visiting the enormous CP Hart showroom at London Waterloo - under the arches

    https://www.cphart.co.uk/showrooms/waterloo/

Visiting was useful for both the "wants" and "don't wants".... For example being presented with 30+ tap options really makes it easy and quick to narrow down what you do, and don't want.

I have used them a few times in hotels and are not that bothered about them ( neither is the OH luckily), and find the small hand held that go with them are not the same as having a proper one. Each to their own of course .

For the minor/zero additional cost, I'd suggest go for a dual shower, rainhead and handset.

Why? They look good 😊. They'll look good to future buyers. And, in summer in particular, you will just want to be rained on in your shower.

And, don't go wetroom. Why? 'Cos everything will be wet. It'll cost a lot more. It'll be more prone to leaks. And imo they can look 'bare'.

Also don't fret over whether to go 'walk-in' or 'enclosed' cubicle. Just choose the style you like.

Again, for cost and reliability, I'd go large tray and fully enclosed.

The space taken up by a bath is way more than what's needed for a shower. Consider going, say, 800x1200 for the cubicle, which is nicely roomy, and that leaves a nice ~500mm for units or shelving.

And then make a cuppa and browse Pinterest and other sites to find a scheme that makes your heart flutter.

It really IS that easy :-)

    Possibly.

Thank you, we need to get the velux window replaced then we'll crack on with the rest of the bathroom.

The wet room idea is gone completely
