Not sure if this is the model you have, but it puts me off buying...

Stanley is a bit of a fashion statement at the moment (or was I don't keep up) so prices have risen, I don't think the price is justified either.

I must have been lucky then, ours was around £30

I think prices have risen due to lack of availability relating to the recall of the mugs in the UK.

A pity there isn’t a Waitrose where you could get free coffee. Our cheapest hot drinks out cost £12 a year at our local Dobbies for 2 a month + 2 and 2 cakes for my birthday. We both have their members card. We take a flask of tea or coffee and mugs whenever we go out, with a picnic or just homemade cake and an apple, and leave another flask in the car to have before the drive home. I take a stainless steel bottle of water and a beaker almost everywhere. We have replaced the old sigg type ones which had a plastic lining.
A soak with a bit of oxiclean removes stains and keeps flasks fresh. The Meoky mugs are pretty, Home Bargains have plain ones at £2.99. Mountain Warehouse have mugs in their sale.

My partner did almost the same thing after his early retirement, and watching £150 disappear on takeaway coffee every month made me see red. We already had a perfectly good machine at home, a franke coffee machine similar to what Connect Vending supplies for commercial settings, but he kept saying flasks made the coffee taste tinny and reusable cups felt like drinking from a plastic toy. What finally worked was a double walled stainless steel tumbler with a ceramic lining, no metallic taste and it kept his black coffee hot for nearly two hours. The brand was Contigo or Ember, but any ceramic lined vacuum insulated mug should solve the temperature and taste problem. For driving, a narrow base that fits a car cup holder is essential, and preheating the mug with boiling water before filling makes a noticeable difference too.
