How do you know the speed limit? Is that from sat nav flashing it up? I sometimes don't see the road signs

It's really VERY simple, and you learnt this for your driving test:
For a car on a non-motorway…
Are there regular reminder signs? Yes? That's the limit.
If not, are there streetlights? Yes? It's the urban default. Wales = 20mph, rest of country = 30mph.
If no reminders, or streetlights, count the carriageways. One = 60mph, two = 70mph.
The one exception to that would be urban 20mph zones, which have to have speed-restriction hardware such as bumps, gates, etc.0 -
Just to add, a dual carriageway must have a physical barrier that splits the road into two separate paved surfaces, one for each direction of travel, e.g a central reservation, not just two lanes in one direction.
There should be a blue "pass on the left" arrow sign at the start of the divider (and after every break that allows for right turns), but there doesn't have to be a "Dual Carriageway" notice.
A dual carriageway refers to two separate roads, not two lanes. Most Motorways are dual carriageways.
btw The A38(M) Aston Express way is a single carriageway motorway! (With 50mph repeater signs all along it)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Is there any point fighting this in court? So two of them saw me holding it but icwasnt speaking on it. I signed something on his phone. Told them I was just holding it and not speaking on it(probably this recorded on webcam)

Nope - you were caught bang to rights, as they say.
Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
Hold on. You told us you did an awareness course only last month. Didn't they explain how, as a driver, you are meant to know the prevailing limit?
So you don't dispute that you were holding it?
What were you doing with it in your hand while you were driving if you weren't using it?
What would your defence be?
If two police officers (I assume) saw you holding it, are you going to cross-examine them and suggest they were "mistaken"?
Again, didn't your awareness course warn you that holding a 'phone while driving is not a good idea?

Yes - two separate carriageways…
There's a clue in the name.1 -
So two of them saw me holding it but icwasnt speaking on it.
You don't have to be speaking on it. The law says that you must not drive whilst using it. So what were you doing with it?

Keeping it warm.

I don't dispute holding it, but moving it from one place to another is not a crime, is it? I admitted holding it on webcam. When they were driving past would they have filmed me up. No was in a van
