Points for using phone

What car are you driving? No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
WRT losing your license. I’ll be blunt, ever thought about just driving within the laws of the land? Many of us manage this on a daily basis 🤷♂️.

How do I get a better phone cradle for sat nav music? How do I voice activate it my current one won't stick anymore and is too large for my phone
You put in a bit of effort in researching, like everyone else, and find solutions that match your phone, your car and your expected (legal) use…

It might be a case of needing a different cradle, but if NONE of them fit, maybe you have a too-large phone which you ought to change instead? I have an iPhone which fits nicely in a cradle; and a work Android phone + hard case which is too big and bulky to.

Why not just drive within the relevant speed limit. That will be easier than changing jobs, especially if you do not have a clean driving licence.
Some employers state a clean driving licence on their job adverts

You "were accused"… Were you?
Anyway to get points reduced? No. It's a 6pt £200 FP. You can choose to go to court instead, but the penalty will be higher, unless you can demonstrate that you were incorrectly "accused" since you weren't.
The law is clear.

You cannot use your phone hand-held while driving.
It has been explicitly illegal to do so since 2003, 23 years. The law was tightened in 2022, four years.
There is ZERO excuse.

Indeed, but they could be arrested and held for 24 hours under PACE 1984, (provided it isn't possible to interview them and complete the evidence gathering for 23 hours & 59 minutes- not that hard to arrange, but we would be talking about a significant change in The Law anyway if it is going to be publicised and act as a deterrent) then released without further action.
Is it overreach by the State? I'd suggest so, no doubt the papers would be filled with sob stories about people who left their 2 year old alone playing with a box of matches whilst they "just popped to the shops", ignoring that if they'd caused a serious collision playing on their phone while driving that they (along with other innocent people) might never be able to return home in time to take the matches. (And also ignoring the more obvious ways to prevent it happening)
Depends on how much Public & Political will there is to stamp out mobile 'phone use, we managed to get high compliance with seat belt wearing somehow after all…
As noted, clearly from observation the current slight possibility of 6 points & a fine isn't working, even increasing the risk with specialised cameras, not least because some offenders are immune to "Enforcement by post"
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

What about just turning the phone off while driving?

The answer is ever so simple:
- Don't speed.
- Don't use your phone.
I drive several thousand miles a month and don't feel at risk of losing my licence at all.
I have warnings for speed cameras throughout the whole of Europe, plus my phone is Bluetooth linked to the car so has full voice control and music connections.
My phone is kept in the central armrest or the glovebox - out of sight, or the possibility of inadvertently touching it.

Or they could just confiscate the car for 24 hours. Sadly that requires them to stop the car at that time rather then a simple picture.
Still I could guess they could send someone round to the house to do it & remove car, then adding a nice pound removal fee to boot 😜

If you don't speed, why would you be interested in where speed cameras are?!
