Another time factor will come into play 4 days on returning from holiday. This is a pre-booked bike trip abroad 14 days, which i had hoped the dispute would have been sorted. Because of these timings, i think it would be almost impossible for me to meet deadlines, whilst not in the uk.

Therefore, if i contact Dcbl dispute resolution team to discuss the matter, & avoid a claim, is this my best option, all things considered?

What makes you think that? You aren't PAYING! This is easy; you are only holding off a claim. It's a normal thing to do. We do this all the time.

They have currently given you 30 days in that reply (from the date of their email)and all you need to do is email (even from holiday) with your reply just before that first 30 days expires, using the EXACT WORDS I gave you to get a 30 day hold, taking your claim arrival to late June at the earliest.

When you then get another 19 days to acknowledge online, then defend.

Thanks for your advice. Tell me if this is correct as i understand it. Their email (not the auto response) was dated 27/4 so if i reply to them by email dated about 24/5 & quote your words saying i'm seeking debt advice, & require the obligatory 30 day hold. This will delay the claim form until about 25/6 (on road trip) whereby i get another 19 days to acknowledge online, then defend it using MCOL & Cnbc?

This will give me about 14 days to defend using my government gateway account ?

The delaying tactic is important due to the clash of hols/road trip. I'm relying on more help to defend myself against these despicable legal types.
