Lebara Data Munching
Comments

Are you claiming the Lebara app, a legitimate app, has caused your phone to get malware/adware?
You are way off the mark.

I'm not claiming anything. I'm just annoyed that as so many others have said, the data usage seems to be excessive compared to previous mobile phone providers such as Tesco Talk Talk etc

And, as explained, somehow you have managed to get adware/malware on your phone.
The fact you have changed providers is a mere coincidence.

So I do not need the Lebara app though I
didneed it to port my numberyou really didn't but anyho.

What "others"? Where? Again, where are you seeing this increase in data use being measured?

Somewhere in the phone settings you can see how much data each app has used
For instance on this tablet 1.38 GB in Chrome since 15th March (when it arrived)
You can also restrict apps for background data use

No issues with Lebara here either and never seen any Vodafone ads.
Got the app.

Usage may be seen in the app.. I most definitely never see any Voda ads. in the time I have used Lebara.
Motorola phone too.

I've always had the Lebara App installed since moving to them so it's 100% not the App either.
Have you tried clearing your browsing history for all time, that's a more likely source of this Vodafone Ad.

Why on earth would Lebara be pushing Vodafone ads? I'm on Lebara and don't don't see this, it must be malware. If fact I do have the Vodafone app also installed, because I still pay my daughter's SIM only deal with them.

I've been with Lebara for over a year on a SIM only plan, and I also have the app, but get no Vodafone ads, nor any other ads. As someone above said, why would Lebara push Vodafone ads? That's quite generous of them.
