Lebara Data Munching
Having had mobile phones since the 90s I've always been aware of usage. Have just moved to Lebara and my usage for 3 hours, doing online SuDoku, was 200Meg of data. I was previously on Tesco and that would be about 3 weeks data. The phone is flooded with Vodaphone Ads too, whilst it's cheap it may be a false economy as I saw on Reddit many people had the same issue with bogus data usage.

I've had Lebara for 12-18 months and never had excess usage, can't say I've ever seen a Vodafone Ad either (where are you seeing this?).
Quoting "users" on Reddit is pretty much pointless I'd say, they're not much better than "Trust"pilot.

Maybe the OP could give a link to the /r in question?
How are you measuring your data usage? Does the mobile data used shown on your phone match that shown on (I presume) your Lebara account?
Can't see why installing a Lebara SIM would give rise to Vodafone (or any other) ads. Where are you seeing these?

Whenever I pick up my phone there's a full page ad for VOD,and I can't get rid of it. And yes I have checked my usage on their site. Whatever they are doing is clearly very different from my old provider Tesco, which uses O2

Again, have you checked the actual data used as measured by your phone?
This Vodafone ad, has it been set as your screensaver? What phone do you have? What's the first app you see when you look at your phone?

It sounds like you've got some adware / malware. My family and I have had accounts with Lebara and have not had problems with ads for Vodafone (or for anything else).
When you switched to Lebara did you change your phone too, or was it just a SIM swap?

It's a SIM only deal, a Motorola e20. So, the problem is Lebara, I've had mobile phones for 3 decades and never seen this before.

So, the problem is Lebara
If I was a betting man I'd wager that it's not Lebara.
Have you installed any new apps recently?

Might be the Lebara app (if you installed that). Does allow third party cookies unless you explicitly ban them.

It really isnt.
Explain how Lebara have installed malware on your phone.

So I do not need the Lebara app though I did need it to port my number. I have got rid of it and we'll see how it works out now. Thanks for the replies.
