.epub file - help with opening and printing some pages
Rough Guides offer a free ebook version as a .epub file which I've downloaded.
I want to open this and print out a couple of dozen pages rather than lugging a massive book around Germany with me. Previously I think I've used an online site to convert epub to a pdf file. This time I've tried that, but the formatting is erratic - some text is very large or bold for instance - and has produced something spread across hundreds of pages.
What should I do? Preferably I would like to retain the formatting and layout of the book in the printed pages.

On your phone Google Play Books lets you read .epub files directly. On a laptop, Calibre.

This, there are dozens of epub readers available for every platform. That whole book is less than 150MB.
I've used the online file conversion programs occasionally and they can be useful/dreadful, may well convert OK but then demand subscription for printing or anything else useful.
If you do want to convert/print then I've just converted the Rough Guide to Greece to pdf using Calibre on a laptop, took a minute or so.
The pdf looks fine to me, you can then use your pdf reader of choice (Adobe for me), but it should open directly in Chrome, and print from there.
Calibre is a full function, free ebook management program and might take a little exploring but if you want to own more than a couple of ebooks then it's invaluable.

If you have a Kindle you can use Send To Kindle to convert DRM free EPUB (and other formats) to Kindle format in your library.

If not, another +1 for Calibre.

Thanks all for your help. I've just downloaded Calibre and converted it to pdf successfully.
