  • Life admin done. I have sent a very apologetic email withdrawing from my new role and doing a foot spa now.

please don’t take this in the wrong way but I find your posts a little confusing. You’re not happy at work but you’ve turned down the new job you said you were definitely going to accept?

This thread and a previous thread of 67 pages indicate a lack of grip. The OP is in debt, which is (probably) at a level that could be dealt with quickly with some small changes, but for some reason they don't seem to be able to take the step forward...

The same with this job, they don't like their current job but having secured a new one, they're not taking it.

  • People are very quick to criticise but there are factors I'm not sharing here that would help make sense of what I'm aware is quite a confusing picture. I don't share everything on the Internet.

Woke up early after having my sleep disturbed last night by people having a party behind Tescos. Also stressed because I've made a few mistakes at work. It should be ok. I have an occupational health referral although I am not too optimistic.

You are probably right that I could tackle my debt with a few small alterations. Maybe I will focus on that.

before I type a comment I always think “is this from a place of being judgemental” and quite often I’m ashamed to say I catch things that are coming from a judgy place. I often then delete the comment or really think how I can be supportive and compassionate instead. This is a recent practice in the last year or so and I have realised how frequently and easily a judgement comes to mind, and how difficult it can be to reframe it, but I do think it’s something that I’ve found really beneficial to do.

You can choose to share as much or as little as you would like, but if people are going to offer constructive suggestions (which many would like to), it does help to offer up some context sometimes.

Personally, I have often wondered whether you might benefit from moving closer to your Mum. You do seem to enjoy a much better quality of life and come across as more grounded when you are there.
