I haven't got much done, which is not unusual.
I unloaded the DW and then put it on a cleaning wash. I'm not putting the WM on its cleaning wash til I've washed the cats bedding so hopefully tomorrow.
I put my spare electric heater away in the cupboard under the stairs. My dad gave one he had that is bigger than mine which he had already given me. Part of his head problems includes not remembering and not taking no for an answer and he can get very angry about it so its easier just to accept it.
While under there I also put my spare airer away. Now I live on my own I rarely need to use it but no I'm not getting rid of it lol.
I then gave my chest freezer a wipe over. I wasn't very successful with the seals so need to get a toothbrush and retry with that. I also did the fridge freezer.
I put all the clean washing away but might of got sidetracked by sorting 2 drawers in the bedroom so things would fit in better. I also went through all my undies & socks and got rid of anything old.
The kitchen table is nearly clear now except for some folders of recipes that I need to be ruthless about.
I rejigged my meal plan again after going through the fridge.
While doing all this I also received several video calls from DD2 which were really pointless, but she'd had a bad night and a really horrible dream regarding her sister so I think she just needed reassurance.
I loaded the WM with towels and cleaning cloths which I'll put on when I go to bed.
I've also walking down the town, the weather was nice today. I took a bag of old towels and muslins to the vets down there and went to the GP's to ask about consultant's letter I haven't received yet regarding my medication dosage change which it seems they haven't received either.
I then walked down to the dentists to find out whether my new mouth guard was ready as I haven't received the promised phone call, which is not surprising with the way that place is run. Anyway it was shut for lunch so I went for a walk along the seafront to kill time. I was also a good girl and didn't visit any of the charity shops while I was down there.
I finally collected my mouth guard after waiting for 20 minutes for the receptionist to find it. I then walked home. By the time I'd got home I didn't feel like doing anything else so haven't.

Blackcats I've never found a solution to the tubs/lids separation problem although I guess if you were really OCD you could put a mark on each pair . I used to have a small basket for putting odd socks in, then periodically I'd go through it and pair them up.
Very tired after yesterday's travelling so I stayed in bed reading for ages.
Mr N and I washed my car between us.
Spent some time in the greenhouse re-potting, weeding and sowing. Ordered some compost and growbags from milkman as it's easier for him to lug them around than me.
Did some drumming practice. I'm doing Red Hot Chili Peppers Californ……I won't type the rest as it will doubtless flag up the pervert police.
Disinfected and re-filled the bird feeders which go outside my study. We've left it several weeks since the lurgy so we'll fill the main ones tomorrow and hope all is ok.
Did a bit of research for a show I've finally found a friend to go with as Mr N didn't fancy it, messaged her with options for dates.
I had a nice photo from M's son of M wearing the gloves I'd knitted for her.
Went to zumba. Had got very organised with macaroni cheese in a divided dish (one gf one normal) and mushrooms & tomatoes in another, ready to put in oven when I got back as Mr N (the Monday chef) had gone to photograph some ruins at dusk with his photography club. Washed up before I went to zumba, wiped surfaces.
Did a bit more knitting.
Booked a place on a zumbathon for May.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.8 -
Morning all xx
Back to the paid stuff for me today. Definitely a case of action before motivation. If I waited for the motivation I don't think I'd get there. Making myself get out of bed was a monumental effort- not physically, but mentally. And I realised that I'd never talk to a friend the way that I talk to myself. I need to be kinder to myself, but not namby-pamby.
Once I'm out of bed it's a little easier as my morning routine kicks in. So, I'm up, made my bed, dressed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, completed the nyt puzzles, and I'm supping a brew.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before setting off.
It might help if I knew the reason for my anticipatory dread. Maybe I'm trying to rationalise the irrational 🤷♀️
And I know I'll be fine once I'm sat at my desk and get stuck in. And breathe...
I bought Easter eggs yesterday- so that's another job done. And I wrote a poem requested by a colleague for her friend. That's another tick on my list.
'All is well, and all is well, and all manner of things shall be well'

Morning all. Thank you Natty for the new thread x
Sorry to have been MIA but I have been keeping up with the thread, even if not the greater part of the flying. I had a good day at the FH Show on Saturday. I'm still making exciting but time-consuming discoveries in the FH research for our friend T, including yesterday a newspaper report about one of T's ancestors taking his neighbour to court in 1861 over damage caused by the (wild) rabbits that lived on the neighbour's land. The judge had a greater degree of sense than T's ancestor, so of course the ancestor lost the case!!! - the moral of the story being that Valli should beware of stupid litigious neighbours and keep her bunnies firmly under control.
That leads me nicely to dust bunnies and hoovering. I've done some of one and got rid of some of the other. OK? I've also kept up with the laundry, FUPA as necessary, swapped out past-their-best amaryllis pots for just-coming-into-bloom others (the landing window sill is their between-flowering home, so that I don't completely forget to water them), made my bed and S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom daily, encouraged DH to cull his pile of papers and magazines (without a great deal of success) and dusted and mopped when I've noticed that it needs doing. Generally I'm now able to keep the house tidy enough for anything out of place to stand out and shout at me, so I put it away as soon as I see/hear it.
Blackcat and Narc0, I have 3 nesting sets of Tupp'ware-style plastic boxes, where the lid of each fits inside the next larger box, as well as lots of stacking boxes of identical sizes (from the Chinese takeaways that we enjoy when visiting DS2&co) where the stack of lids sits below the box stack. All of them (and I have lots because I freeze so many meals) take up less than one shelf of the cupboard above the built-in oven. I think the trick is in putting the clean boxes away tidily every time.
MMM, I'm glad to hear that your DD is beginning to heal.
Here's hoping MrN is getting better too. (I've still got my cough.)
Round, you're doing great! How's Sassy settling in? Sassy by name and sassy by nature?
Fayolle, it must be spring - I have allotment envy. It upsets me not to be able to dig and sow everything that I'd like to. Which reminds me: I need to check the plastic mini-greenhouse covers before putting them back on the frames, in case they have perished and need replacing (or might that be a sign to declutter the frames too? - but I do like eating fresh tomatoes).
HB, enjoy your friendly lodgers.
Take care and fly safely, everyone xxx

Been to see my friend, got fuel and stuff for tea (North) dinner(South). DD won't be home until 7:30 so I've decided to do chicken wraps and salad. She can assemble her own when she gets here and I don't have to wait.
Washing drying beautifully on line. Some brought in, last items pegged out. Cleat hook bought so I can have more line.

Googled cleat hook. Ohhh. One of those. Every day is a school day. 😊
I had 3 hours Annual Leave to take before 31st March so I left work 2 hours early today, and I'm leaving an hour early tomorrow. Easing myself, and Sassy, back into a routine. First time I'd left Sassy to go to work - she's so busy I don't think she missed me at all.
She's definitely independent iona. I suspect that she will live up to her name 😉.
I got lots done at work and feel on top of things there. Phone call received from DB to let me know that GP asked him to take Pops to the hospital as he was confused and weak. He's on SDEC waiting for a scan on his liver, on iv fluids as dehydrated. I'm waiting to see if he is admitted on to a ward.
There's been a group of people looking round the building at work - we have to be out by August. No idea where the powers that be will relocate us. I may even have two new bases as I have two separate roles. As long as there's adequate parking! 🤞🤞
Flying will be restricted to making tea. (I'm northern 😉).

Today I took Natty’s garden tasks to heart. I might have forgotten to do the other flying though 😳.
Bedding changed, washed and dried on the line. I ran the vacuum cleaner over the landing carpet (luckily as per the list) as yesterday I had been cutting some black fabric out and had walked the threads everywhere. Then I went to the allotment. 2 hours later after a lot of chatting and not as much tidying as I had planned, I came home. Whoops. I have spent the afternoon in the garden, the green bin was emptied today so it would have been very remiss of me not to have started to fill it again. I completely forgot that I had planned to fly AND see off HH admin. I have picked a few herbs and leaves to go with bought lettuce for dinner / tea (southwest at heart girl, trying to remember to say tea) and cooking some lentils to make a lentil, beetroot and feta salad. DH will be thrilled to see the lentils on the plate 🤣
Somebody, sorry I can’t remember who, asked about eating hm jam. When I had to turn out under the stairs for decorating, I found all sorts of goodies. We are currently eating 2020 rhubarb and ginger jam and 2023 marmalade. I did throw away a few jars where the seals had gone.
I hope Pops is ok, Round xx
Hmmm, putting names in bold is suddenly not working for me again.
ETA - I did cross a job off my Toots list 🎉 - the rhubarb that has been sadly sitting in a tub for, oh I don’t know how many years, is now in the ground in the back garden.

@roundtuit - sending hugs for Pops (and you). Glad Sassy has made herself at home.
@ionafan - one of my ancestor's was sued by his neighbor for slandering his pigs. Never did find out what he had said, but found a brother and other relatives testifying and they listed where they had come from in England about 1640. Court records have been a goldmine in my research.
Trying to do at least level one each day. Already 30C here and not even noon yet! We don't have air conditioning here, but we are leaving the curtains closed and it has helped.
