I have a Shawbrook maturing - offering me a max of 3.88% on the Fixes…think may move it to Virgin…..

The option in my post wouldn't be listed on the standard maturity options, but was still an option, at least for me. Worth asking the question, if relevant.

That's interesting and breaks with the trend we've been seeing over the last 12 months or so, with Shawbrook refusing such requests. In your case, I wonder if they're making an exception because it's an internal transfer ? The amount could also have something to do with it, along with the fact there's only 1 year left to run. I guess the outlook for interest rates is also evolving at the moment, with immediate decreases looking less likely.

Agreed the fact that it's internal could make it a special case - is why I included in the info..

I just asked Shawbrook regarding a transfer in from an external provider. In line with others experience, they've said not, but confirmed I can add the new financial year's allowance to my existing 2 yr fix at 7th April (sic).

Thanks soulsaver, that's exactly what I was planning to do with my 2yr fix with them. Had been going to contact them just to confirm, but won't need to bother now. They did knock me back at some point last year, for a transfer from another provider.

Why Shawbrook? They aren't the highest percentage of interest available.

I want a fixed Isa with next tax years money. Shawbrook opened last year is giving me a better interest rate than top of the list at the moment. If I can get a better fix come April, I will go for that.

Is that because you fixed last year or because of a mid term offer?

It was a 2 yr fix opened April 2025, rate 4.42%.
