Still not getting this flowerbed into shape. I'm tempted to have part of the garden lanscaped. For now, has anyone any recommendations on what to do with this patch?

The lavender has done well. Time to cut it back to the new growth to keep it healthy and compact next year. I’d plant some more lavender and other Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme as they are evergreen and like dry sunny conditions as it looks like you’d got that there. They are also evergreen as well as perennial so will stay green over winter and come back next year, Just my opinion of course.

This summer has been so hot & dry that your patch is a paradise compared to some.
From the long range frights about next summer, El Nino etc, if you see some get a packet of Californian poppy seeds, they will give colour & love a bit of dry heat
