The orange and yellow flowers from Streetview are the Welsh poppies.

Your first plant may be Fox and Cubs aka orange hawkbit. The second image includes the Welsh poppies, a lot of sedum. Not something I know well but may have yellow or pink flowers.

And a lot of dandelions (those rosettes with a "button" in the middle). Get a fork in now and tease them out. They have long roots which snap and regrow if you aren't careful.

Is this south facing or north?

I made a brief start in this flowerbed today, hopefully the weather will be good over the weekend so that I can continue. Any advice on next steps?

Trim back [remove dead / brown bits] on the lavender, by cutting back to a green living shoot. This will promote fresh growth and give a bushier, lower and less straggly plant

If you have any, or buy some, Fish Blood & bone fertiliser, or any long term feed you fancy, a good sprinkle & gentle rake in will feed over the season & help build the daff bulbs up for next spring flowering

Pruning is my next job. There's lots of these green bits between the rocks, what are they?

They look like some kind of sedum - there are a lot of varieties of this so you won’t know the exact one until it flowers.

Dead head your daffs as the flowers die, this will stop them attempting to produce seed and will promote better bulb growth for next year. Let the leaves die back for a few weeks. Don't tie them in knots, it's not good for the bulbs.

Would definetly recommend lavender, that would look nice, also a pop of colour. With it being near your gate, id personally encourage things for bees to act as mini guard dogs. Could do some herbs in there too, nice smells wafting about when you come through the gate. Not bad!

A couple more items in the flowerbed that I'm unsure about. Apps give me mixed answers.
