I didn't go back to sleep all day. That is my achievement and I am proud of it. If anyone is ever thinking of building a house, don't

In procrastinating and avoiding the companies house thing (gov one login app still ain't working) I have sorted and emptied a briefcase of papers (relatives).
I'm not sure what other OATs will be completed yet this weekend but I have high hopes as I have no money or fuel to leave the house 😆

It's amazing how much you can get done when procrastinating. Good luck @Rhyddid2026
I'm making the most of cheap electricity and have descaled and cleaned the coffee machine and DW (well, I hope the DW is descaling itself, it's making a HUGE performance out of running a hot wash as usual… I must get on with getting the kitchen replaced so I can replace the DW), descaled the kettle and shower heads, washed a thick coat and shoved it in the TD.
There is cooking to do, but I need to nip to the garage for a few extra bits. And I want to wash the shower traps and put stuff down all the plug holes. And I'd really like to get the 6 pictures up in the ensuite as the repairs/decorating were finished weeks ago, as well as one more picture in the spare room.

Thanks @greenbee I can be quite good at tricking my own brain 😂
I've used the corporation tax reminder that came for the second tax period and paid that huge bill.... 3p!
Still no luck with companies house but I'm determined, it's driving me bonkers now. I'll try deleting and reinstalling the stupid app.

My very small thing I'm proud of today is using a beautiful cup that has gold leaf on it so can't be put in the microwave.
I use the microwave a lot for reheating coffee so I often look at it wistfully whilst choosing my cup in the morning and think 'today is not the day'.
Well today I thought 'this is daft and I want to enjoy the nice thing and it is really not going to add an enormous task to my life to pour it into another cup, heat it, and pour it back' so that is what I did and my day was made much nicer by using the beautiful cup.

Well done PIP. I use my grandmother's pink Spode teacups for my morning coffee. Like you I kept saving them, and then realised that there was no point - and it turns out they're find in the DW. Yes, I have broken one, but better that than keeping them in a cupboard unused.
My mum has also started using her wedding-present dinner service every day. She doesn't have lots of dinner parties anymore, and knows that neither my brother nor I will want it (I already have her Minton Haddon Hall and the remains of my grandparent's Susie Cooper as well as the Spode) so is enjoying using it daily. I use all my odds and ends of nice china regularly - I only use the boring plain white stuff if I have lots of people over and feel I need to have matching china!

I think I've managed it. Or I've at least managed a bit more. I've applied to have the business closed down. I'm not able to do the accounts for this year until July but whatever, nothing came in during that time. I need to keep everything safe and easy to find.
I can't decide whether to go to the shop for cake or open a bottle of red wine.

Cake AND wine?

Good for you, and your mum, @greenbee. I thoroughly believe that if something breaks or is lost then you're no worse off than not ever using it in the first place are you. More difficult to put into practice than preach though!
Oh my goodness @Rhyddid2026 get in! Despite this being the mse forum I think you deserve both for this occasion. However if its actually a choice to make, by your wording it sounds like you have wine but would have to spend for cake, so crack open the wine and send what you would have spent on cake as an OP 🥂
