Looking To The Future With Hope

It does exist because I am also one. Love crochet but don’t push me out of my comfort zone 😂
Those quiet moments, and allowing space to feel sad, are really important @RhiBi. You just need to let them in a bit at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed.2 -
well I did sit and do some knitting this afternoon, it’s a basic pattern x allegedly, I beg to differ! So I message my mother to rescue my knitting again. She’s now sorted it and I’ll pick it up from her tomorrow. My mother is about half a mile away so it’s quite convenient. Except, her husband is American so they spend 3 months here and 3 in Florida. I need to get better because I don’t think it’s very MSE for me to fly across the world for her to sort out a dropped stitch!!!

That’s work done for the week. I don’t know what was happening with the traffic today but it took nearly an hour to drive about 4 miles. I’m sat downstairs with the tv on, my dogs and a glass of wine. I’m not in work tomorrow.
I might feel some days I’m not making progress, but even simple things like sitting here watching tv show me that I am. When he first left, I couldn’t sit downstairs, I don’t know why but I really struggled with it. Whether it was associated with evenings sat here together, I don’t know. But I’m happy just sitting here, the dogs, my glass of wine and the tv on, relaxing after work.

What a traumatic time you’ve been through, your resilience is inspiring. It’s amazing what dire circumstances we can make it through.
You’re probably right about associating sitting downstairs with the ex. It’s definitely great progress to be able to relax there now.
Enjoy your well deserved break from work.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Thank for your really kind words. If I’m honest, I don’t feel resilient, but the fact I’m still functioning, back at work, albeit on a phased return, and doing things to move forward might mean I am. I will get through this, and I will be a better person for it - I’m saying that to convince myself as much as anything, but if I look at where I was 3 months ago, to where I am now, I can see the huge steps forward I’ve made, so I’ll keep making those strides.

You absolutely will get through it. You deserve to and are worthy of treats and feeling contentment in your own home. Enjoy the glass of wine and the snuggles from the dogs.
Not so far in the future you will be so thankful you worked your way through this and love the life you have. I’m sure of it 😊2 -
@Dakota_Rose thank you so much. I am starting to feel it, and am looking to the future rather than back. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a lot of down moments, but they are getting less often. I have lots of regrets, but I have a lot more to be grateful for.

Morning, another lazy start, I’m sat in bed with a cuppa tea, and GMB on the tv. I’ll miss these lazy starts when I’m back in work full time after my 2 weeks leave. I can get a flexible day once a month so I’ll make the most of those!
I’ve a hairdresser appointment this morning, I desperately need my hair coloured. I’ve not been since last August. I tend to only get it done twice a year, I should go more often, but it’s expensive. I did an SOA when I asked for advice on my situation, and the 2 hair coloured appointments a year are accounted for in it.
My sister in law is coming over this evening so that we can chat about holiday plans. I want to talk about how we split eating out etc. Whether we split bills, ask for 2 bills, so she pays one meal, I pay the next. Whatever we decide I’d rather it discussed before we go. She is quite money savvy, so I’m sure we’ll come to a decision we’re both happy with. My brother has offered to taxi us to the airport, so no costs there, although I will offer something for petrol costs as the airport is about 60 miles away. My mother is having my dogs, so all I’ve got to do is give her their food, bedding etc.so no extra costs there. I’ve told her I want daily photo updates!

Well, I’m definitely a creature of habit, sat in bed with my cuppa tea! I’m changing lots of things in order to save money but one thing I can’t change is my Yorkshire teabags, that’s a hard no for me!!
As well as my sister in law coming over, My mother also came last night with some Prosecco so it’s definitely a slow start to the day. I’ve not got any exciting plans for the weekend, but I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. Tonight will be pizza and watching BGT and The Brits, I probably won’t know half the acts on it but I still enjoy watching it!
I’ve got plenty of food in the freezer and as I’m going away week Monday I’m not going to do a food shop. So I’ll just get bread and milk as I need it this week.
I went to the hairdressers yesterday, and for some unknown re@son, I made a spur of the moment decision to have some pink put through my blonde colour! It’s semi permanent so it won’t last although the hairdresser kindly gave me some to shampoo into my hair if I want to redo it. I love it though, its subtle, but noticeable which is what I asked for. Maybe it’s some sort of statement in my journey of moving forward, I don’t know. She asked me what I wanted and I just came out with it, I hadn’t thought about it beforehand!
Anyway, I’m going to make another cuppa be fore I start some boring household jobs! Have a good weekend everyone!

Yorkshire teabags should have a protected line on everyone’s SOAs 😂 I drink the decaf version but they’re my non-negotiables too.
