I have received an email as below (obviously changed email addresses) but wonder what inactivity they can mean given that I use my Gmail account every day.

Is this genuine? I am just very cautious and want to retain my Gmail address but not bothered about any other Google services.

Thanks for any advice.

Think this is notification of what you have set up for when you are no longer using the Google account, either by choice or because you've become incapacitated (or dead).

Go into your Google account and look for

Just set phone to keep checking email account, that is all you need to do to stop them shutting the account down.

I consciously set this up and receive similar periodic reminders.

    Thanks to all.

I feel reassured that my account is not about to be deleted by Google and they have my alternative email address if there is a problem in future.
