At a guess these a continuous payment authority & someone mettle has not updated the system to block the company from getting the new card number.

Once that is done it will stop further ones from happening.

Another merchant to add to the list, Triviva LLC, for an amount of £7.33 at 4:18pm.

My card was cancelled and reissued by Mettle shortly after.

  • I've had a few issues with Mettle and fraudulent activity. The latest one was on 8th Feb where I had 3 attempts by Techvault.com to take £7.40 from my account. I informed Mettle that I didn't recognize this transaction and I haven't heard anything apart from a generic reply. Today I got a notification that my Mettle bank card was updated on Google Pay and when I logged into my Mettle account my card details were missing and a message was in its place saying my new card was on its way to my home address. This is the fourth or fifth time that I've had to have a new bank card from Mettle since opening my account four years ago. I used to think it was me clicking on dodgy links even though I've always been careful but after reading this thread I'm thinking it might be a Mettle issue and am now wondering if I need to look into a new business bank account

I had this happen with capitalontap last month, over a few days multiple cards (used at specific sites that use Stripe and other safe processors) had random attempts (all blocked) but they couldn't tell me why.

I see from reading online, its possible for the exploiters to brute force card numbers with test transactions at weak security online stores to see if the card is valid

Mettle has 'investigated' (Monday message) and is going to refund the money but I am still waiting

Mettle is still not answering any messages or calls but I have started to receive "Chargeback Write Off" credit transactions. They seem to be doing it in dribs and drabs. £40 three days ago, £200 two days ago, £1300 yesterday.

They still have not mentioned anything to me about what has happened or why they are paying this money back into my account, other than a generic email saying they've cancelled my card and are sending another one.

It seems crazy to me that they allowed this in the first place, and are now repaying it slowly without discussing it with me.

I'm surprised that no one from Mse seem to have picked this up

A few one star reviews popping up on Trustpilot.

I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

    Why?

Card fraud happens to ALL banks ALL the time 🤷‍♀️

This is the reason need to keep checking their accounts on a regular basis 👍

  • Are you working for Mettle or just trolling for the sake of it?

This is an evident hack where cards have been compromised, in my case without the physical card being used ever and with online use in only two sites: Amazon and Royal Mail.

"Card fraud happens to ALL banks ALL the time", for real?
