Well, looks like multiple Issue 5's are possible.

Takes 3 years of loyalty. I phoned PBS to ask about maturity options and they said that they are allowing multiple holdings per issue of the 6 month RS to members of 3+ years standing (either savings or mortgage membership or both). New customers to continue to be restricted to one per issue. Good to know.

So no need to get multiples via maturity instructions? Can we simply open multiples directly?

I only asked about maturities as I had one coming up on 28th which has successfully rolled-over to an Issue 5. I have two more maturing on 13th March (an Issue 4 and an RSB36) and was advised that both can rollover to Issue 5's, so I have instructed this. If you qualify as a member of 3+ years, I think it would also apply to direct applications but not 100% sure.

I wonder what has brought this turn around and when did it actually happen - Maybe all of those maturing accounts with money draining out has possibly had an influence and as we assume that they are reading this forum. Although I am still hesitant myself and I might also give them a call this week as I've got Principalities maturing on the 6th - just have to hope that all staff have been given this memo especially the ones doing the manual checks of the Principality maturing accounts …
I imagine that my banks and building societies have a drop in funds at this time of the year, more going out than coming in, as people empty the various savers to do the final top up of ISAs.
Virgin regular saver - very thankful to have renewed my regular saver this month and thanks to the OP for bringing the subject up. Possibly this was the last ever Virgin regular saver

The summary box doesn't seem to mention 3 years, so I wouldn't have too much hope. Please do let us know what ends up happening! If they are actually knowingly and purposefully accepting them now, I might give it a try.

Has anyone had multiples rejected recently and are members of 3+ years?

So it never was my green shirt and Sunday afternoon instruction strategy after all.
