i have an issue 4 maturing on the 2nd March and I gave maturity instructions about 10 days ago to convert it to an issue 5. A couple of days after that I opened an issue 5. Not yet received a message declining the maturity and the issue 4 is still showing my maturity instructions.

After the recent endless debate over multiple Princ accounts, I wouldn't be surprised if people had wised up a bit and kept things to themselves.

It would appear that if you give your maturity early and then wait till near maturity you are likely to be successful in opening 2

Speaking of Principality letters, this time mine didn't have the phantom zero ahead of my nominated account number (although part of it was redacted which I don't recall happening before.) Maybe part of their system change, along with checking maturity options manually.

from previous posts, aren't Principality maturity instructions now checked on the day of maturity (or possibly shortly after if a Sunday) ? if that happens, I would expect your directly opened account to survive, but the recent maturity instructions to be declined… and thus no second account - but if it opens and survives a week, do let us know!
personally, i'm not going to bother opening a Issue 5 directly as I should get one via a maturing account on Saturday - luckily, I qualify for the 7% RBS RS which more than compensates for wasting everyone's time trying to open another duplicate RS with Principality.

I think it's more luck of the draw, than timing it right. Although probably more the case Prinky have wised up to it, or maybe they were always aware and now are deciding to adhere to the T&Cs.
The only way I reckon you could open more than one is to provide maturity instructions and then open an Issue 5 before the maturity instructions have been implemented
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
7% RBS RS
Am I missing out on something??

probably not - Bridlington mentioned it last week in this thread about RBS offering a current account switch bonus, included in that was a boosted Digital Saver to 7% for the first year - I didn't have a RBS account, so I was able to take advantage of the switch.
