    Manchester Building Society

I had an odd notification from them about a rejected payment and it said to check my emails

"We have recently received a payment for your savings account from an account which is not your nominated account. Under our terms and conditions all payments into your savings account must come from your nominated account. As a result, we have been unable to credit the money to your account and we have returned the payment to the bank account it came from. Please note, it can take up to three business days for the payment to reach your account.
Please arrange to resend your money from your existing nominated account."

Assume the issue is with Manchester 2 which is the newer of the two. Just checked my standing orders and the two standing orders for reg saver 1 and reg saver 2 are both from the nominated account and the nominated account is correct and I can see both payments online both leaving nationwide and arriving at Manchester - not checked the app yet but assume its no different.

Anyway I've manually sent a new payment for now but this might bounce back.

Tommorow I will delete the Nationwide standing order and the saved payee and redo the standing order to start in October - as a just incase.

Do you need a current account with them to apply for this one?

Yes, you do need to have a Virgin Money current account to be eligible for this regular saver. I have added further details to my earlier post.

    Nationwide Flex saver

I added a 13th payment this morning and so far it has not been rejected … I know in the great scheme of things its not a huge amount of extra interest but even so …

I opened and funded Santander 8% RS beginning of August. Inadvertently added another £200 over a week ago which hasn't been returned. Anyone know if they are likely to be paying interest on the extra £200? If not, I won't bother funding this month.

    Virgin regular saver

    Thank you!

As I previously refreshed Virgin regular saver in February I did the same today - closed Virgin regular saver 5 by 1stly emptying the contents into my Virgin current account.

Then ringing Virgin on 0345 608 1604 to ask for closure which was done over the phone - quite a lot of security to go through but all done.

At the moment my current account has not updated with the transfer - todays standing order to the regular saver has caused it to be pending but I expect that it will update overnight. The current account should update and I will keep checking until the app says the regular saver is closed - cant remember how long this took in February …

And fingers crossed that the new regular saver does not go NLA in the next couple of days!
