It would be unusual for duration of membership to be determined by the age of your open accounts only, and not any closed accounts providing continuous membership to an earlier date.

In the end, the difference in interest, even maintaining a £100 voting member balance, is going earn you less than a Freddo bar per year, and the risk of limiting customers to one RS is worth weighing, especially if this is the reason you are maintaining the relationship.

Always a risk.

However the 5.75% (currently maturing) issue was offered without excluding those holding the previous 12 month Regular Saver. I held both for a short while.

Don’t forget the website also shows one’s closed accounts.

Therefore it is possible to trace continuity of membership, particularly if ones transfers a small amount of money to the new RS from the former RS/Matured account.

It is generally length of membership that counts, not how long one has had a particular account open.

I've noted recent comments about the benefits changing and the RS supposedly being no longer available, so I wasn't sure what my plans were going to be for this account, however in case it's of use to anyone…..

I was notified early hours of this morning that my RS had matured today but I've only just got around to looking at my account. They've put the money in an EA pot with a rate of 4.45% (presumably due to the other benefit I have which is a monthly bonus giving a rate at 4.45% provided I add at least £500 per month to the c/a, which I do, £300 for RS & £200 gets returned to where it came from).

To my surprise given the recent comments, I was able to open a new RS at 7.1% and fund it with the 1st £300, so for the moment it seems the RS is still available, at least to those with maturing savers.

My matured RS does not appear on the withdrawal to nominated account dropdown menu. Are people submitting closure/withdrawal requests by message or is the system permitting the request?

For me, the account was available to withdraw to NA.
