I'd guess that they created the 8% with Halifax because they did want to lose all their Halifax customers before they transferred them to Lloyds? If there was no Halifax 8% people might go to Santander for theirs?

    Principality

Just got my maturity letter for a RS maturing mid August. No decent options - just bonds offering poor interest rates…

Is it worth my while waiting out until closer to the maturity date to see if Principality release a decent rate RS?
If I make my choice, can I change it closer to the date if I want or is that my decision locked in?

Anybody else in the same situation?

Its more of a conundrum if you haven't any other accounts with them?

If you have anything (not another 6 month RS) which keeps you as a member I'd just have the lot out and put it in the higher rated accounts, thats what I'm doing.

Interesting point but Lloyds also do the 8% so wouldn't the Halifax people just go for that when transferred over?, like I said just seems unnecessary to continue to do things for a dying brand, unless of course the switch over won't be quick anyway?, but then by creating new accounts won't help that process will it?, hmm🤔.

Also will there be a crossover with the Halifax Regular showing in Lloyds app when Halifax dies or will some people see 2 Lloyds Regular as in 1 ex Halifax rebranded as a Lloyds + another regular got through Lloyds.🤔

But then they would have to allow 2 regulars if the Halifax one got rebranded wouldn't they?, until maturity. 🤔

I'd say let it mature & get Principality to leave everything apart from £1 in that account if you have no other accounts with them. I accidentally did this with a previous 6 month.

Otherwise you'll have to go with having to apply for an account again, getting online access etc if something decent comes up again in the future.

In theory if you are already in the system it should be easy/quick to get accounts.

Not much point in making an early decision. If nothing better at time of maturity do as jameseonline suggests.

I had two savers (not same issue) running when my latest one matured so was able to close it completely. Funds soon back in my account.

Goodness only knows what's going to happen. I've still got Halifax account and obviously went for 8% RS, imagine that most who have Halifax accounts and do regular savers did this, rather than waiting for transfer over to Lloyds. I do believe that some have opened new Lloyds RS coming from Halifax, and have been transferred over, perhaps they can tell us?

From memory I believe that you cannot change your maturity instruction online but you can on the phone

    Monmouthshire 6% regular saver

Hello all! My account matured and was showing (with interest) as an easy access account so I requested a withdrawal to my nominated account via the app (then instantly was able to open and fund a new one for maturity 30.7.27!)

The easy access account is still showing the funds and I'm aware building societies take a tad longer than banks but can anyone tell me when the money will be transferred to my bank account? I'm not desperate for it but I'm wondering if this is normal (and that it will suddenly disappear from Monmouthshire and appear in my bank account, at, say lunchtime…?) Or have I done something wrong…?

Thanks so much and sending you all a virtual ice cream

    xx

I think people are getting a little over-anxious about a few regular savers. If LBG are offering products and you can wangle qualification then just do it.

Can see little point in trying to second-guess Lloyds future business plans re savings and corporate identities, just take advantage of the rates while you can. No real need to 'understand' what they are doing.
