You don't need a Lloyds Bank account in order to open their 8% monthly saver.

they both had a 7% RS during their switch offers a few months ago.

Yeah rewarding newbies … I'm one of the 'loyal' customers who is going to walk away in 5 days time, 5.25% just does not hack it at the moment.

Monmouthshire RS8
No change here yet. Am guessing MBS don't do much, in regards to transferring money to external accounts or displaying new accounts, over weekends.
Am sure things will start to happen today.

Interest for my RS8 that matured on 25/07 has appeared in the account, app only.
Requested all funds from account be withdrawn, will wait until complete then request closure (online).

Virgin RS 3 maturing end of August. Isn`t there a £3,000 maximum in T&C`s. I have £3,000 balance at the moment. Will they pay 6.5% on £3,250. Do they not enforce against a 13th payment?
I suppose I could put £250 in on 1/8/26 and the worst scenario is it gets returned.

I have had a BOS RS for several years - no BOS current account even though that is stipulated in their T&C`s. I have Lloyds current accounts and Halifax Current accounts. I have been able to operate the BOS RS online via the Lloyds and Halifax websites.
I would like to get the new BOS RS @8%. If I close my present BOS RS and apply for the new one @8%, am I likely to run into difficulty over not having a BOS current account? I suppose I could open a BOS Current Account to be legitimate but it seems a lot of trouble especially as Lloyds Halifax and BOS are all merging this year into one brand ie Lloyds.
Once Lloyds encompasses Halifax and BOS will there still be 3 RS`s (Lloyds, Halifax and BOS)@ 8% available later this year.

I and others above the thread have successfully opened the BOS RS with no current account with no problems.
Halifax
I don't think we really know what will happen around Halifax savings accounts going NLA. Frankly I'm surprised they launched this one at all!
I am curious on what people's strategies are for this, are people thinking of closing/renewing their Halifax RSs before they are kicked out of Halifax online banking and app, to get a few extra months of 8%? I don't know how viable that really is since its being done in waves at different times for different people (see the Halifax to Lloyds thread here )
Last time I closed a Halifax RS I had to close it in branch, not sure if that was due to tech issues or if I hadn't learned the renew trick yet, would be inconvenient for me.

Expected to find my Dudley maturity funds in my nominated account first thing but not there. Rang them up to be told end of play. Not happy them continuing to hold my funds after not paying interest all weekend. Strangely enough funds arrived within 10 minutes of my call.

BOS and Lloyds are remaining. It's only the Halifax brand that they are phasing out.
