LLOYDS/BoS
To the person who was asking about switching, I just wanted to say I also have had a BoS current accout (decades old) and am currently in the process of getting Direct Debits sorted to do a switch. I plan to open a new Bank of Scotland account to get the swiching bonus. As far as I can see you can open a current account to get the Regular saver and that shouldnt matter for the switch.
Also, who was it that said they didnt want any more regular savers so they were going to set a limit at 8%.....
They could have a problem now!!

I did have a chuckle at that part. I think it was @subjecttocontract who set 8% as their lower limit, Over to you…..

The guy as the power of foresight, maybe he should have said, "I'm not funding any more regular savers under 10.5%".
Could you imagine the stampede. 😆 😆 😆

Its not a case of dismissing it, I'm not eligible, my last switch money off Lloyds was October 2023, so its a non starter.
Most of the switching offer dates are currently excluding previous beneficiaries up to about the end of 2022, just checking the B of S one is 1st January 2023.
Assuming its a 'group' thing then I won't be eligible for a while yet, especially as the 'timeframe exclusions' on these switches are moving very very slowly.
So its not really worth concerning myself with right now and instead (if I can) jump on these regular savers.
Of course for anybody else if they ARE eligible I totally agree, if there is a suitable offer go for it, at the time of my post I didn't realise B of S had an offer on, I thought the poster was holding on for an offer which hadn't yet materialised so in theory could be waiting forever and missing out on the various RS in doing so.
Unfortunately (well, not really, it just means I've had my share) I have no real avenues for switching for a while, used them all up!

Halifax 8% opened, 😁

Lloyds group 8%
Bullet proof IT, rightfully, preventing me from opening BOS, Lloyds or Halifax 8% (as an existing holder of their RS products).
Hopefully they are still around in a few months

Halifax BoS
Closed both yesterday and this morning successfully opened both and funded.

LBG
Reading through their respective websites it looks like you can't open a Lloyd's or a BOS regular saver if you've opened one in the past 12 months, but I don't see anything stating that on the Halifax website...
I'll keep an eye on this forum before closing my Halifax RS anyway.

Halifax RS
All good so far, renewed old 5.5% to EA, new 8% opened/funded inside 5 minutes.
Have glut of EA savers, will cull later.
