No matter how many time I click on this thread, it remains unread till I post.

I think it's a feature of the 'auto-bump' process - when threads are started and don't receive any responses within 48 hours, they're bumped up to the top of boards and set as unread, even after (re)reading….

It's a bug, as I clicked on it numerous time since first posted and the only way it marked as read was posting.

No skin in the game regarding whether it's labelled as a bug rather than a feature but, either way round, it's a recognised characteristic of the way the 'auto-bump' works for ignored threads (but can be worked around via the 'mark all as read' option):

How can it be to do with the auto bump when that kicks in two days later after I first read the post.

My understanding is that when a thread without replies gets bumped after 48 hours, it's marked as unread from that point, even if you'd read it previously, but happy to be corrected if someone else knows better.

I think you’re fixated with the auto bump. As I've said upthread I clicked on the thread a number of times from when first posted, not from it was auto bumped.
In the 3 days it remained unread no matter how many times I clicked on it, only marked as read when I posted.Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
Hardly fixated, but based on what you'd originally shared, it sounded like a plausible explanation - however, if you read it multiple times within the first 48 hours without it being marked as read at that stage (not explicitly stated previously) then it's presumably something else.

It was explicated stated "How can it be to do with the auto bump when that kicks in two days later after I first read the post."

Exactly, that says that you first read it within the first 48 hours and, separately, on day 3, you said that you'd read it multiple times, but in themselves those don't add up to you having read it multiple times within the first 48 hours!
