Travel Spending in the USA

Hi - I always use Curve to spend on my UK credit card, but as I use the free card, for the first time I am getting fees on transactions.
Is there anyway I can get a card I can use for Applepay - immediately?  ie is there a card I can apply for whilst abroad, and instead of waiting for the physical card, I can start spending using my phone?

Curve offer fee free transactions on its higher tiers.

Do you need credit or would a debit card do?

Banks may have an issue with you applying from overseas as they dont have a banking licence in the country you are in at the time which in theory could get them in trouble (noting that AmEx UK is a sister company to AmEx in the US so you can't say that applying in the US for a UK is ok)

Starling I am fairly sure is instant but it's a debit card. Barclarycard was instant for me but I am an existing customer so that may change matters.

Chase Debit (then subsequent Credit application) may be worth looking at.  No idea if they will entertain you if are out of the country.

Wise offers a virtual card without a physical one.
    Possibly so does Revolut.
