So if you enter both reg on > https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ is the same model and colour of car returned? I'm amazed that a random police vehicle ANPR camera hasn't flagged the car by now..?!0

The 2 plates are the same letters/ numbers wise. It’s just the first one letter that’s wrongMyRealNameToo said:
But they are normally printed so whilst D and G may be done wrong the two plates should be identical. It's not a mishearing problem that creates two plates with different values.Mildly_Miffed said:D and G could sound quite similar shouted across a noisy workshop.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -

I’ve just checked the reg on the Volvo, it taxed until June 2026, and no mot status as it’s a 23 plate. I bought it from.vw main dealer, and both plates have the details and phone numbers on.A thankyou is payment enough .0

I am quite surprised we’ve not been getting them, driving into car park with one number and driving out with another.Lorian said:So have they been getting unpaid parking tickets..... Surprised they arent on here asking what's going on.Fingers crossed we don’t,,
I’ve contacted the garage and they’ve been good so far, and very surprised that no one had picked up on the issue.
and they’re sending out a technician to fit a new plate on Thursday, they did offer tomorrow. Or just call in there and they’d do it straight away.
But weren’t planning on using the car again until Friday anyway.
Hopefully all sorted on Thursday.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
Over 60 years ago, the garage who had supplied a brand new car for the rep at the firm where my father was office manager phoned him and asked him to get the rep to check his car's number plates as another customer had found they had different numbers on their plates. Rep checked and said "ABC 123" on front "ABC 124" on rear. Garage arranged for both cars to come in and have correct plates allocated. Garage's fault so no charge. And they did fit the right plates to the right carIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

Surprised that they never noticed with "A good work ethic"plumb1_2 said:
The wife is the main driver, so only maybe drive it once a week. And we don’t wash it, we have a young lad who washes it once a month.Mildly_Miffed said:Yes, absolutely they should...
But it's taken you nine months to notice?
So which end doesn't match the V5C?

D and G could sound quite similar shouted across a noisy workshop.
Better employ him as he has a good work ethic, which I like to encourage.
So that’s my excuse.Life in the slow lane0 -
That’s teenagers for you, and me. I am glad he’s not one of the many thousands sitting at home exercising their thumbs.born_again said:

Many workshops still use the old fashioned jig and single letters method and you can still print 2 single plates rather than a pair leading to the possibility of someone screwing it up.MyRealNameToo said:
