Hi I realise I am old school and my favourite way to listen was cd albums.
Just wondered is there any decent apps which focus on albums?
All the free ones just play random songs on shuffle.

You'll have to pay for the best experience.....Have a look at Spotify, Deezer, Amazon music, YouTube Music and Apple music if you are into Apple stuff.
I use Spotify and find it does all I need and I haven't not found any albums I look for...My Wife swears by Deezer.....Have a look around and see which can meet your budget.
They are all easy to use.

All of the paid for apps allow you to play an album. Fairly sure some of the free versions of the same allow you to too but may insert adverts between tracks.

I ripped (er, took backup copies for personal study) all of my CDs before putting them in storage.   And added the album art as part of the process.  Play wonderfully on my phone, car, and home music setup from a network drive.  No internet connection required!

For free stuff you may find what you want on Youtube, otherwise I'd look at a sub to something like Tidal or Qobuz which have huge libraries. Both have free month trials, Tidal will offer you the 2nd month at just £2, worth a look at least.

I subscribe to Amazon Music Prime which can organise by album, as well as downloading over WiFi for playing without hammering your SIM data allowance. Prime provides d/l in highest quality which is more important when playing on hifi rather than earbuds.

Anyone going down that route should definitely consider FLAC format for the music.  It really does sound better than what the likes of Spotify serve on their regular stream.

Which really should be titled, which streaming service paid us the most.

Had an interesting lunch with some journalists from a similar publication a while back about their side business. Pay them a chunk to submit X applications for awards/reviews in Y categories and if you dont win at least 50% of them you get your money back. Still have the trophy somewhere for best product development, think its acting as drainage in one of the big plant pots out front.

Then they must all pay them as they recommend pretty much all of the well known streaming services for something or other.

I use both YT Music and Spotify (don't ask - but we pay for both).  Both of them I find really good, though I do prefer YT music as it's more old school, whereas Spotify is better for suggesting stuff you wouldn't normally listen to.

I listen to all sorts of weird heavy metal and both platforms have everything I've ever searched for, and more.

Amazon Music, I hate the layout. And it's far more limited to mainstream music.

Don't bother paying for FLAC or whatever; Spotify now allwos you to stream at a lossless quality on Wifi if you want that much detail.  But I have decent amps and speakers and have never noticed any difference in sound quality between lossless, high quality, and medium
