So… have taken another look this morning at my sewing project. I managed to finish it off with some realignment. It’s nowhere near perfect but it’ll do for me. Then I re-watched the YT and realised I’d cut 2 x 30cm squares instead of 2 x 35cm squares so no wonder it didn’t work pffft!

That yarn may be pretty, but it's horrible to work with ☹️. Quite thin for DK too.

It just doesn't glide through your fingers and the hook. It's like having sweaty hands!

I will persevere, because it is coming out so pretty. Luckily, it's just a summer top, so shouldn't take too long.

It feels fairly soft once made up. Should be even better once washed with some conditioner... hopefully 🤞🏼

This craft pack came with this months issue of Simply Crochet.*

I wonder how close to the picture I can make it.

    Hi everyone,

How are you all doing? Not sure about you guys but working with yarn during the heatwave was challenging.

How is your summer top coming along @Sea_Shell? Love the little kingfisher. I bought a book from The W0rks with woodland amigurumi and have so far made the white bunny for my Easter postbox topper. Quite fiddly being small, but they make up fairly quickly.

I love the bee card @Auti - I’m planning a beehive/bee themed postbox topper for July.

I’m not sure if I said that someone on the village WA thanked whoever it was that did the maypole mice topper, so I fessed up that it was me. I also said I wonder what to make for June and someone said June is for Brides. With that in mind I created this and installed it last night:

    IMG_2534.jpeg IMG_2531.jpeg

Have used the former maypole to secure the wooden heart and tied the back of the brides dress to it too. Have put two dowels up her legs to give her some stability. As I think I’ve mentioned before, the postbox is up high so is susceptible to wind, so securing the design is as important as the design itself. The wooden heart is from The W0rks and I painted it with acrylic and DH varnished it for me. Will see how it lasts!

June will be time poor as my DDad is coming from abroad for the month. I’m also away for a week in Spain (booked before he made his plans) so little bees and a hive might be the way to go. Will get my thinking cap on.
