Today is sure to be a good day. My migraine has almost completely gone, I’ve woken up feeling well rested before my alarm and I’ve just completed Wordle in 2!

My thoughts exactly 🤣🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪2 -
I’d also find it funny if it wasn’t so true 😂 @Sun_Addict and @ohdearhowdidthathappen!
Completed Wordle in 2 again this morning. Surely a sign that I’m about to become lucky with money too?! Or just very wishful thinking and it’s all downhill from here 🤣We’ve had some very refreshing rain this morning so I’ll enjoy the fresh air while we have it!

Thank you for dropping in! I intend to enjoy it.
Despite the early morning thunderstorm, today has been unbearably hot. Eldest has polished up nicely and is out at his prom - a full suit in this weather though 🥵. I really hope he is enjoying it as he seemed very nervous getting out of the car. Unlike so many others, he didn’t share a car there or do the prom parade for photographs. He may have found it easier arriving with friends, but they seem to be similar to him in that they tend to keep their heads down and didn’t want a fuss, so quietly made their own way there.
Back at home, we enjoyed a lovely steak dinner and a glass of wine/lemonade. I ended up working late to finish some documents I was working on. My Monday self will thank me for it.
I have another tricky problem I’m facing at work at the moment but am determined to park it till Monday. Just three weeks left before a long summer break. It’ll be utter bliss so something really positive to work towards.Wishing anyone popping by a lovely weekend!

Adding to remind myself tomorrow - I have made absolutely NOTHING extra this month with side hustles, cashback or surveys. April and May brought in a great amount of extras and this is maybe why I’m feeling the burn this month. I want to overpay more of the CC, mortgage and loan, as well buy more premium bonds and add to savings. Challenge to self: make a sale before payday on Tuesday. I can’t end with £0 in the bonus bank.

Okay, so I can happily report that I did manage to bring in some bonus money (admittedly it was pure luck that TCB cleared my small amount of pending) so that’s £2.55 heading towards the bank. Measly I know.
I feel like I won the sales lottery today. We popped into Sainsbo’s to pick up our order of (20% off) uniform and had a very quick look down the home aisle on the way to the counter. Well I was delighted to see a shelf of nice scented candle jars reduced from £6 to 60p! With two leftover larger ones reduced from £9 to 90p. Of course, they’re only a bargain if you can use them but it’s coming up to gift-giving time of year and I had planned a second stop to home bargains to buy end of year gifts. Before I could tell Mr D to go and get a basket, he had raced off to collect two! I’m too embarrassed to share how many we bought, but promise we left a couple on the shelf for others. I always love to receive a nice candle and Mr D couldn’t believe the price as I’ll often have one in my Christmas stocking or birthday gifts that he’s paid full price for.
Youngest clearly sensed our glee as in the next aisle, he brought over anything with a red sticker. This was fortuitous as one of the items was a lovely pair of school shoes in his next size reduced from £20 to £6! These were still outstanding on the uniform shopping list so that was a no-brainer. A huge saving on the Clarks ones we’d usually buy and they seem really well made too. Some new underwear and socks also made their way into the baskets, as well as a beautiful knitted outfit perfect for a friend’s baby’s Christmas gift. All these were 70% off - the knitted set was £3.60!
Well, by the time we’d made it to the click and collect counter, the two baskets had become a small trolley! However, we completely avoided the big home bargains stop as operation gift-list had been completed.
The school uniform items will be easily covered with the child benefit money I have been saving all year. I have spent gift pot money that isn’t yet in there but will be on Tuesday. I will clear it off the 0% CC as soon as I’m paid.
I’ve just prepped the uniforms for school tomorrow and feel like a real Scrooge setting out the end of year items that have seen better days. The new stuff is not to be touched till September! 😂 It’s equivalent to the Christmas shelf in the kitchen come November/December.
In other news, we’ve had the nicest weekend doing not alot. I’ve read, enjoyed a glass of wine with a small barbecue and spent lots of time together in the garden enjoying the sun. We bought enough for two days, so we’ll be doing it all over again in half an hour or so. My work issue has been on my mind which I resent as I so wanted to switch off completely - I don’t think I’ll ever be any different.
I’ll stop boring the pants off people now! Have a lovely Sunday evening if you’ve dropped by.PBs £2050 (including £1k EF)
