Overthinking gets me nowhere fast but yet I seem to spend an awful lot of time doing it!
Great news about the access to the quieter office - it’ll likely be well worth the negotiations.1 -
Overthinking gets me nowhere fast but yet I seem to spend an awful lot of time doing it! - 100% this, saying it seems so simple but implementation of not doing it is a lot harder.

Monday has Mondayed but is done.
I woke up feeling pretty exhausted - my arms and legs ached! Definitely my PMT week. I have another 5 full weeks of work before a break so it had better be PMT and not general work exhaustion already.
I have crazy busy days on Tuesday and Thursday this week, with a bit of respite with some training booked for Wednesday. My to-do list will fill any spare minute I can find.
As often happens in June/July/August, I have overspent this month on gifts and special events. The energy refund will help, but I really do need to pull my finger out and get some more items on for sale as I’ve had to pull from my car sinking pot to fund others. Not good at all - especially as my brake needs looking at.4 -
A very busy day of work today but it was positive too. That’s one of my intense ones complete for the week.
The energy refund has come through and that’s been split into different directions - credit card/birthdays and events pot/car pot.
I’ve got a couple of higher value items listed for sale so I really would like to see them shift soon to help get some more of the CC cleared. It’s all on 0% but I really don’t like it sitting there.
In food news, dinner tonight was a mushroom risotto, which was lovely for a change. I’m having a peppermint tea now and can’t see it being a late night for me.5 -
Another day done for the week - we’re over the hump 😊.
So far this week, I am feeling very proud of myself. I went into it conscious that I was due quite bad PMT symptoms (migraine, cramps, anxiety) and am so far coping well and keeping my head positively above water. This is the first ‘hormonal’ week in almost a year that I can say that! My anxiety is so far in check and I’m being very mindful of myself and taking time to breathe.
Tomorrow will be another long, long day but am reminding myself to find the joy in it and not just stress it away.Money wise, I’ve been hit hard this month. Lots of unexpected school costs and collections on top of the expected ones. And to be honest, I’ve been so busy that convenience choices have crept back in! I’ve managed to avoid touching the EF and premium bonds so far but we’ve still got a lot of June left to see through. Need to get my frugal and thrifty pants firmly back on. They’ve slipped to around my knees these past few weeks 🤣

Ooh but in money sensible news, Mr D has worked his magic on my car which has had a squealing brake the past fortnight. It had seized up completely and he’s mended it for free today 🤩. He really is worth his weight in gold!
