DCBL Harrassment

Hi all, looking for some advice please.

I’m being pursued by DCBL for £170 relating to a parking charge from March 2025.

I paid for parking online for 2 hours and did not overstay. Unfortunately, I never received the original Parking Charge Notice as it was sent to my previous address. I only became aware of the issue around 6 months later, after receiving a letter from DCBL.

At the time, I incorrectly assumed that updating my address with the DVLA for my driving licence would automatically update the V5C for my vehicle, which I now understand is not the case.

DCBL are stating that I failed to dispute the charge within the allowed time and are now threatening a CCJ and bailiff action. I have attempted to contact Euro Car Parks, but they are not responding.

Key points:

  • Parking was paid for in full

  • No overstay occurred

  • All notices were sent to my old address

  • First correspondence received was from DCBL, approx. 6 months later

My questions are:

  • Do I still have the right to challenge this charge?

  • Can a CCJ be pursued in these circumstances?

  • What should my next steps be?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Its not harassment,  its a legitimate business practice to pursue alleged debts

Study post 4 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements,  ignore DCBL

You will be challenging the pcn in a future Money Claim,  same as all the rest in your position

The claimant ECP can pursue a Money Claim,  not a CCJ

Wait for the inevitable Letter of Claim from DCB Legal,  followed by a Money Claim

Ensure that the DPO at ECP and eventually DCB Legal have your current address

Which is impossible,  its like believing the trapdoor spider who tells the insect its safe to enter their domain

Stop reading their letters,  stop believing their lies, instead read the official MSE advice endorsed by Martin Lewis and study the newbies  ( like yourself. ) sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum,  because i don't think that you have read either of them

Ignore DCBL as explained clearly in the newbies sticky thread in announcements

    DO NOT PANIC!

CAN'T SAY IT ENOUGH, THIS IS NOT A FORUM FOR TALKING AD INFINITUM ABOUT DEBT COLLECTOR LETTER CHAINS SO PLEASE SPARE US!!!

Just checking  -  you have now updated the V5C  -  otherwise could be liable to real fine of £1000.

    As above ^^^^

DCBL love scary letters but the facts are
*DCBL needs to win in court whereby a judge issues a CCJ ... NOT DCBL

*If you paid and have a receipt etc, that will put a smile on nthe Judge's face which means you will be able to claim costs

*DCBL may issue a court claim no doubt followed by offers of discounts.  You ignore
Just wait for a claim and come back here

*YOU DO NOT OWE £170, THAT IS JUST A MONEY SCAM
Hi, yes i have proof of payment. i will keep that handy. immediately they send me any court claims, i will be back here the very second. thank you all. i will sleep easy tonight.
