Morning all. Welcome newbies.
DD is unwell so hasn't come over today which has given me no excuse not to fly. So far I have done dailies, walked Poppet, got admin up to date, hoovered through, packed a couple of parcels ready to post and put away all the children's stuff I'd got out earlier. One wash load is now on airer. Bathroom and downstairs loo next.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Afternoon everyone. We have a glorious day here, but a very cold one. At 8.30 the outside temperature was minus 7.9 degC, and it has taken until now for the sun (which is shining in a clear blue sky) to bring the air temp up to above freezing point. We had another light snowfall around midnight, but of course the even lower ground temperatures mean that everything that landed in the shady areas is sticking.
Despite the danger of ice, DH has taken himself off to town for a soup and sandwich lunch with some mates from one of his wargames clubs, and has promised to get some milk, bananas and yogurt to tide us over for the next few days' breakfasts. I have plenty of food in the freezers for main meals. Rosie went out for a lovely walk in the snow with L, so I had the house to myself for an hour in which I PUPA, removed most of the evidence of Widow Twanky from the bathroom (airers have been put away, last few bits of yesterday's washing are now airing on the radiators) and S&S'd in there, made up the guest beds with the clean bedding, emptied all bins, had a cuppa, then a light lunch of crackers and cheese, then another cuppa. I've also sent an email in the hope of sorting out a problem with the gift magazine subscription that DS has ordered for me, which overlaps with my own subscription that I had inadvertently left on auto-renew - hopefully my own subscription can be paused until the gift runs out. The Treasurer of the Old Wives has suggested to her best friend the Chair that we do not hold an evening meeting in January, and this has been announced as a fait accompli, so I'm texting everyone about arranging a coffee and chat get-together during the daytime instead (and already have 2 others interested, so it will happen!)
Now perhaps I can get back to sorting photos

The house looks a lot better. I've picked up and shoved all the stuff that needs rehoming in my office because I want to get to grips with some of the spaces before I shove any more gibble in them, vacuumed the whole house, given the shower room some attention, washed the shower curtains and a few other white bits and pieces, made myself a lunch box for the week with broad beans, chickpeas, coriander, lettuce, cucumber and yoghurt, and pegged out the laundry. Two and a half hours just flashed by, but that's enough for one day.Belovéd has had his ankle jab and made it home on the bus via M&S where he picked up various treats for his birthday supper tomorrow night.Lebara has ported my mobile number across so I'm back in the land of mobile phones.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.8

A productive couple of hours. In the kitchen I sorted two cupboards and two drawers, cleaned the bins and shined the sink. I polished all mirrors in house. Dusted desk and everything on it. Deleted some photos and walked Poppet again.Spend less now, work less later.10

Afternoon all. Only just put the computer on so I didn't know it was bathroom day but luckily that's what I did this morning. One washload done and dry indoors apart from a pair of jeans which are on the radiator ready to finish off when the heating comes on. We had a dusting of snow so I brushed off the path to the back gate and across to the bird feeder so that the sun can dry those bits up instead of just melting the snow. Hope it's not icy in the morning because I have a hair appointment at 9am. At least it will be light so hopefully I'll be able to spot any icy patches.Hope everyone's OK x9

Afternoon all.
Thank you for the lists, last week and this, Valli and Natty. Very much appreciated, even if I sometimes forget to follow them.
I was very pleased to spot that it was bathroom day, as you all know my habit of ignoring Monday if it’s kitchen day 🤭. It seems that I can also ignore the bathroom if push comes to shove. However, in my (very small) defence, I have washed the towels and relented to using the TD, and have spent the rest of the day painting the woodwork on the landing and down the stairs. The new carpet - 20 years in the waiting - is being fitted next week. Thanks to the flylady who put the song Half Way Down the Stairs into my brain last week and now it won’t go…🤣.The temperature hasn’t gone above freezing all day and we had another smattering of snow last night. Like Pollybear, I have a hair appointment tomorrow morning and have been fretting all day about there being more bad weather. DD on the other hand is happily making arrangements, never occurring to her that she may not get out or worse still, get stranded somewhere. Obviously as her mother, I can worry for us both 😩.9 -
Happy Monday
very icy round here and it has been like it since Friday. The general consensus amongst our neighbours is that there's been no sign at all of gritting lorries
Christmas decorations are now back in the loft and I've made a list of the various boxes and bags so we know what we are looking for next Christmas.
i did a tidy up of the bathroom cabinets which helps my toiletries use it up and throw it away efforts.
1 wall of bathroom tiles scrubbed - I'll just avert my eyes from the other 3 walls until I get around to them
sink and bath swooshed

time for a cup of tea now10 -
Can I join again please? Can’t remember the last time I came back! Recently, I had been busy working to help make overpayments towards my mortgage. However, life has taken a little turn and I have suffered from a stroke. So, as I am on sick leave I am now planing on working my way through with the fly lady list a being a little proactive to do what can.January Grocery 11/37410

El hope the funeral goes OK x
And MumofJustTwo sorry to hear about the stroke but welcome back, and a big welcome to all new flyers.
I decided to just concentrate on getting through the paid stuff today, although I did manage a weights workout first thing. The weather was awful and I drove the long way to the office to avoid the single track back road. I was home in good time and made mushroom risotto for tea. I have left the kitchen clean and tidy and the washing has been removed from the airer and folded, so some flying has been achieved. I gave the LR a good dust and hoover yesterday when the tree came down.
I have a potentially tricky meeting tomorrow morning so big girl pants will be needed. Fayolle your comment made me smile, DS1 sometimes goes out delivering for work in a huge pickup with a massive trailer, and he is so confident (oh I am just popping up to Scotland and back, no dramas). I am deliberately not messaging him because given the current weather conditions I don't want to know what he is doing!!
