Well done on your pound @Matron_Midge. ๐๐๐My go to meal when DH is out is egg and chips. ๐
It's always hard to stay on plan when there are celebrations going on @milann. Just keep plodding on. ๐ค
I've had those endless weeks of STS too @Longwalker. Incredibly frustrating. โน๏ธ
I'm no good with crochet @Coxy11. I just can't seem to get the tension right. What are you making? ๐ค
What a silly woman passing over the bacon at CS @bubbs. All the more bargains for you. ๐
I've never heard of tinned beetroot either but a good standby. I'm running short (just used the last Farmfoods jar) so need to stock up. I eat loads.
Hope you get on OK with the appointments @Jellybaby. Not the nicest way to spend your time.
It's rained all day here. I wimped out on my walking group this morning. I'm going dancing tonight and I just didn't want to have to sort my hair out when I got back. My hair hates rain. โน๏ธ

I took my BP monitor back earlier and am very mad with myself for not keeping on plan with sw and exercising more. She is recommending BP tablets as my bp was consistently high all day yesterday and very high on occasions. Iโve been on the verge of medication for several years and promised the GP several times Iโd do something about it. But I was an ostrich in the sand doing well for a few days then sabotaging myself, hoping the high BP would magically disappear.
Anyway as I said yesterday it has given me the kick up the backside I needed.Breakfast - porridge and blueberries
Dinner - ham, beetroot, peppers, cucumber, tomato hard boiled egg
Tea - chicken and mushroom cobbler. I made 10 tiny cheese scones and had 1 approx 5 syns - probably less. Green beans
Snacks - satsumas, banana, grapes
Hope youโre ok Jelly baby and I hope they sort your Lane quickly Coxy.

@jellybaby - You have my sympathy. Dental woes I know all too well. And I also know that what I do is look for soft food - and all speed goes flying out the window PLUS comfort food on top .. Fingers crossed for the scan xx
@joedenise , Im another who has never seen or heard of tinned beets. What I do love and I really do recommend it, is grated beets in a jar - no vinegar. It's in Lidl and comes along on Polish week. It's around ยฃ1.50 a large jar and comes plain or with onion - the plain is free and is actually the nicer.
It's just grated beets and the process makes it like a spread - although you see the individual shreds . I either have a dollop beside a lot of meals, and I use it as a spread on the thins or rye when Im making an open sandwich. Double win as its a free food and a speed
@coxy11, you also a fellow hooker? I really need to get back to it. I have a room full of yarn and just no inclination of late . You want yarn? get in touch - I seriously do have a room full
@bubbs, today from work - FOC - I lifted four packs of sausage rolls and 6 boxes of quick soak peas. Not to my liking but I split them up and shared them around the neighbours. Since when did dried peas go off???
Today has been a mixed bag for me. So ruddy cold - wind chill of minus 7 , and it was a harsh wind. Got into work and someone managed to smash the cooker socket so the oven wasnt working. It's a tiny kitchen and these past few weeks Ive been working with 2 work top sockets - one for the oven the second for the air fryer. Then I have a double on the back wall which takes the heater and my echo . So now I have to balance the air fryer on the shelf there which means I have the choice of heat or music. Music won - so I froze all morning :)
Got home and DH was blitzing the living room ( it does look so good now its done ) but I was going for lunch and cinema with a friend, and needed to find him a BD pressie , so showered and left him too it Had a Caesar Salad which whilst not on plan was the best out of a lot of potential bad choices, and a wee glass of red. . Then over the road to watch Hamnet. Now I didnt know what to expect but WOW . If you are going - take tissues - you will need them
Walked in and DH says Im just back from leaving your mum at the hospital. So had a wee and back up the road I went. She finally got called at 9pm - her long wait even though the GP had arranged it, was because they knew she was going to be an admission and were waiting a cubicle to be freed up . So I got home at 10 ish - which is a result. There was no point in sitting with her any longer as they were wanting to get drips and a line in and gets scans done before she went to the ward. Nothing majorly serious at this point, Diverticulitis and dehydration
So , Like I say, a cruise is way out of the question
She is getting frail and it's not easy to see. But I find it so very hard to actually feel much for her. I cant converse with her , certainly cant hug her or anything . Its not easy for sure0 -
Morning all,
(Whispers it) Iโm working today!! I know! Flaming heck, might even earn enough for the weekly shop - actually doubt that tbh.
Sorry the BP news wasnโt better @milann - would your GP offer free SW attendance to help get you on track? Not sure if they still do the 12 weeks free? x@Longwalker - have heard that about Hammet ๐ข Yes Iโm a hooker and Iโm currently creating a post box topper for the village. Hope your Mum is okay. Mine is not one bit maternal or huggy so I can empathise x

Morning all, it's a bright but cold day today so have taken a chance and hung out a machine load of washing. Not sure it will dry as there is no wind again so just hanging there but hopefully it will dry it a bit and won't need as long in the tumble dryer to finish off.
I think that's really weird that no one eats in the office @Coxy11 - I'd be starving. What time are you working until so that you can eat your rice pot?
I wouldn't worry about taking BP medication @milann, it will soon stabilise your BP. When I was first diagnosed with high BP I was mid 30s and only weighed 6st 7lb! My GP said to me I can't tell you to lose weight the same as I tell my other patients! I've been on tablets for about 40 years now and don't find it a problem just taking a tablet for it in the morning.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - Welsh rarebit, pickles - HEA2; P; S; F
D - lamb casserole, mash - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Swips - none planned
I've only seen the tinned beetroot in France but then they seem to use lots of tinned veg as there are all sorts which I've never seen here in the UK.

Change of plan for lunch! DH decided we'd go down to Faversham butchers to get some sausages and goat (it's the only place fairly locally to get goat). We went to a pub and I chose wisely - backed cod, new potatoes and ratatouille - unfortunately the potatoes weren't cooked proper and I couldn't even get my fork in some of them. Also a bit too much ratatouille but the cod was very nice. I had a lemon and lime to drink so probably about 5 syns for the lemonade.

Afternoon all,
I donโt think Iโve ever tried goat @joedenise do you use it for curry?
My parents are definitely not huggers @Longwalker in fact very much stiff upper lip and get on with it types which I find very difficult especially now theyโre needing more help too.Donโt be too hard on yourself @milann I think we all can be ostriches at times. ๐คyou get the BP medication sorted out.
Dentist this morning and not as bad as I thought but mouth is likely to be sore for a while yet. Iโm starving so will devour the chicken curry DS is making for dinner ๐คฃ๐คฃ
