Been MIA for a couple of days. I've been reading along on my phne but not got around to posting.

    Well done on the losses @joedenise , @bubbs and @Jellybaby . It's a good feeling.👍🏼

Sorry you didn't get what you wanted @Coxy11 but hopefully your good work this week will catch up.🤞🏼

Thanks for the swips on corned beef @Coxy11 and @joedenise . It meant that I only used 5 swips for the whole thing and I'm counting 3 for me as I had a very small portion the next day. I've taken to adding 100g of bacon lardons as well as the corned beef which is very tasty. Picked up 2 packs of the 10 slice YS in Aldi on Friday so will be even fewer swips on another occasion.

Hope the egg and chips went down well @Coxy11.😋 We used to have a liver and bacon casserole regularly when the girls were at home @joedenise. It was a recipe thy brought home from school cookery lessons which had a tomato based sauce. How did yours work out in the SC?🤔

The booked holidays sound great. At least your family have plenty of time to make other arrangements when you're away @Jellybaby . Where are you going in Turkey @joedenise ?

If a cake is what you want for your birthday @bubbs then enjoy every mouthful🎂. Glad to hear you're having a break during shutdown so that'll be a bit of a holiday for you both.

We're trying to book a city break of some sort this side of Christmas. It's proving hard to find a few days without other commitments so probably a few days somewhere local.

I've stayed on plan since eating out on Wednesday and this week is clear except for Thursday lunch so definitely doing 'good when I can'. I've made the mixture for meatballs which is chilling in the fridge and will cook alongside the chicken later. We have 5 hours of half price electricity on Sundays @joedenise . It's not as good as free but better than nothing.

    Today's plan-
B- toast, eggs, baked beans (fibre, P,F), milk for drinks (calcium)
L- JP, tuna and salad (F,P,S)
D- roast chicken (P), new potatoes (F), many veg (S)
Swips- gravy 4, LTL mayo 1, weekend wine😁

@maman We're going back to Old Deniz to the same hotel, it's a nice hotel (as long as the weather is good!). There's a great outdoor bar overlooking the sea and we just sit there drinking (not necessarily alcohol, quite often soft drinks or coffee) while watching idiots jumping off the cliff (paragliding!). It's very relaxing.

The liver and bacon casserole I make is just chuck everything in and cook on high for about 4 hours or 8 hours on low. It's roughly based on the Hairy Bikers recipe although I certainly don't use anywhere near the amount of flour as the recipe says, just a dusting on the liver so it doesn't bleed. If I've got time then I'll fry off the liver first as I think it tastes better that way but it's not absolutely necessary.

Agree with @maman about having cake for your birthday @bubbs. If you can't eat cake for your birthday when can you?

Had a lovely phone call from TUI to say the agent had found a promotion code which has given us a £100 refund! Have used it to book the parking for our holidays in January and October which came to £106 so a good saving.

    Hi all,

Have been to yoga then picked DDad up from DSis’s as they too are decorating and needed him out the way. I have given him a mani, pedi and haircut per Stepmums request. This time next week we will be at the cat palace.

Loving all the holiday news. I’m not looking at my trip as a holiday given what I’ll be doing but do have a city break to Amsterdam later this month for BFF’s DH.

Have made a spag bol for me and DDad for later and a rhubarb crumble. Have found lots of prepped rhubarb in the outside freezer so want to use it up. There will be at least 2 portions of spag bol leftover. I’m slowly building a freezer stock of ready meals which is good.

    Food today:

    B - banana

L - AF bacon medallions, tomatoes, mushrooms, poached egg, sour dough toast - P, S, 6

    D - spaghetti bolognaise, Parmesan, rhubarb crumble - P, S, free, calcium, 10?

    Calcium - 350ml skimmed milk

    Lunch was free

Tea will be half fibre for yorkies and 3 sv for gravy, might push the boat out and have some stuffing 🤣

Forgot to say earlier I popped into Lidl as they have butternut squash on offer @49p/kg - I picked up 3 good sized ones for £1.66. They'll easily keep for 6 +months kept in a cool dark place - I keep mine in a wardrobe that doesn't get opened too often! I've now got 4 in the cupboard with 2 home grown sitting on the windowsill drying off/ripening. Should keep me going throughout the Winter/Spring

Certainly not the wardrobe with your holiday clothes in @joedenise !🤣

You're well organised for the week ahead @bubbs . Great idea to use the SC when you're so busy plus the take away on Tuesday. 😁👍

It's actually a wardrobe my DD2 left behind when she moved out as it didn't fit into her flat - she also left behind one of her 2 big wardrobes! There is one in the spare bedroom which I use for storage of spare tins, washing liquid, toiletries etc. DH stores his electric meat/bread slicer on the base of the hanging side so there's no space for it to be used as a wardrobe anyway, apart from the hanging bit!

The other one is in my sewing room/office which houses DH's extra shirts/collared T-shirts and coats. The drawers at the base are used to store surplus bedding and a couple of them I use for my fabrics. If DD2 hadn't left them behind we would have had to buy storage of some sort so it saved us money too so very MSE!

    Morning all,

Great BNS prices @joedenise I love BNS soup and roasted. The community allotment has them but we haven’t been up there in months due to DDad’s visit. Don’t feel I can just rock up and take produce without staying for a while and I just don’t have the time right now.

It’s my volunteering afternoon. I’ve just put a colour on my hair as won’t have time later this week and I’m out Saturday and travelling Sunday. Kitten has learnt to climb trees this weekend 😳

    Food today:

B - bacon, spinach - P, S (odd combo but both needed using up)

L - WM roll, slice of chilli cheese, BNS soup, apple - Fibre, Calcium, S

    D - Sticky chicken, rice, tender stem broccoli - 1, free, S

    Calcium - 350ml skimmed milk

SWIPs - rhubarb crumble and light custard!!

Back again, morning all, nice and bright first thing but clouded over a bit now. Have done a load of washing and it's out on the line. Had planned to do it tomorrow but checked the forecast and it's showing light rain first thing so decided to do it today instead.

Have you got a neighbour or friend who could pick up some butternut squash for you @Coxy11? Shame you can't get there while they're cheap.

    Today's plan:

B - Weetabix, milk - Fibre, part Calcium
    L - stuffed peppers, salad - Calcium, S; F
    D - sweet and sour chicken, rice - P; S; F

    Fibre - Weetabix
    Calcium - milk, cheese

    Swips - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.
